When I first heard 'Waiting for Superman', I noticed that it had a different sound than Daughtry's usual stuff, but I loved it and couldn't wait to hear the album. This album does have a kind of pop/folk vibe to it, but Chris still has a rock music voice and it stands out in this album. He is a fantastic singer and songwriter. This could possibly be their best album to date. Expand

Ok. First off, I think most of the professional "critics" are over thinking it and have no clue what they are talking about. This is easily his best overall work to date. A different sound that what you may be used to from him but a welcome change. Great, fun, and catchy music. And as always his voice is still one of the best in the business.

The sound on Baptized somehow links U2 to Rascal Flatts, adding Springsteen stances in "Wild Heart." More unexpectedly, there's also a banjo shuffle.

It [his voice] wants badly to roar but is given almost no opportunity to here apart from the savage “Traitor.” And so mostly, Mr. Daughtry is a caged animal on this album.

Daughtry has never allowed Daughtry to be silly before this record. This relative lightness makes a big difference--it also helps that the music itself is relatively nimble--and, ultimately, this turns Baptized into the best album he or his band has made.
