Beyonce has outdone herself with this record. Incredibly aggressive, funky, catchy, and most important, fun. It's also very lean, short and to the point at just 10 proper tracks, not a moment of filler (except for the crappy "Listen" from her upcoming film Dreamgirls tacked on as a bonus track). Vocally, she's a force on most of this songs, and the lyrics are incredibly straight Beyonce has outdone herself with this record. Incredibly aggressive, funky, catchy, and most important, fun. i would give the album 9.5, because i don't think any thing is perfect, and the fact that there are only 10, which is bad BUT at the same time good in respect to quality, order than that the album is perfect, her voice is incredible, the beats are amazing, and the story the album tell is just brillant, my favourite is order greenlight, irreplacible, freakum dress, kitty kat, upgrade i would give the album 9.5, because i don't think any thing is perfect, and the fact that there are only 10, which is bad BUT at the same time good in respect to quality, order than that the album is perfect, her voice is incredible, the beats are amazing, and the story the album tell is just brillant, my favourite is order greenlight, irreplacible, freakum dress, kitty kat, upgrade u, deja vu, suga mama, get me bodied(extended bonus) , ring the alarm and then resentments ( i love every song on the album) A+++++++++++ Expand

Loves it. Beyonce is a perfectionist(VIRGO) and ahead of her time. The creative side of a woman in love and knows what it takes to keep and satisfy the one u love. Innocent and yet sexual.and catty. You can see it in upgrade u, kitty kat, irreplaceable.

Beyonce' did it again....The songs are touching... her album is much mature... hits dont mean hooks that dont match the verse...start to finish. A great opener to an awesome closer...Resentment is something everyone can relate to when they are in love and heart broken...to the Encore...the extended with get me bodied...definately a club keeper....That song is a work out....Upgrade U Beyonce' did it again....The songs are touching... her album is much mature... hits dont mean hooks that dont match the verse...start to finish. This CD attacks you with one hot song after the next. Beyonce leaves behind the balladry of Dangerously in Love and shows her angry, jealous side. And it looks good on her.

Love the live instruments and influence of old funk and old skool R&B!!! I glad she tried some different things than sticking to the same formula as Dangerously In Love!

This album is amazing. It's a whole lot better than her previous sleep-fest! I love the fact how every track is an individual and none of them sound alike, a problem her previous album suffered chronically from. Get Me Bodied is simply fantastic, the way it relies on her vocals for the melodies and harmonies. Ring The Alarm is so refreshing and perfect as the second single. Other This album is amazing. Other amazing tracks would be Freakum Dress, Irreplaceable and Green Light. In fact, the weakest link here would be Deja Vu. Overall, I'd say that Beyonce has definitely grown up and she let her artistic tendencies free to evolve. Expand

This album is wonderful, probably Beyonce's best work. The songs are catchy and her Aretha Franklin-esque vocals are so vibrant on the album, should be a huge hit for her. My favorite songs are Resentment, Irreplaceable, Upgrade U, and Get Me Bodied, but I love the WHOLE album!!!!!!!!

Excellent example of great popular music because of its brevity. In 10 stellar tracks that emphasize attitude and energy, B'Day streams a variety of mini-anthems over hard hitting beats in a way only Beyonce can

Thank you Beyonce, you have inspired me to keep striving and pushing to be the best. This album is absolutely amazing. The vocals are awesome and the creativity is out of this world. Ring the alarm is the best video that you ever made! You are my inspiration, one day we will work together!!!

  1. Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.

B'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
  3. Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
