Beyonce shows some range and diversity found in few if any of the other artists of her generation and genre. Bday is her best offering and it is easy to like. Don't just hate it because it's from a former member of Destiny's Child; Beyonce has branched out since her girl-band days and she sounds really good.

The only good song on the whole CD is Irreplacaple. I feel that for B to be 25 she sounds like she is 18 the Cd sounds childish and everything is about trying to keep a man. If you have to work that hard to keep and please your man than baby you have a problem. To me it seems like you are trying to send a message to little miss Rihanna who must have something to do with "Ring the Alarm". The only good song on the whole CD is Irreplacaple. Apart from a couple of catchy singles, Beyonce's first album was overrated, and this one is even worse. One word comes to mind: uninspired. The fact that it was written and recorded in two weeks is blatantly obvious. Recycling "what worked" the first time does not equal artistic growth. It just shows laziness and a lack of creativity. On its own, B'Day is an amazing album that will surely garner her many awards in ceremonies to come. In comparison to the recent mind-numbingly aweful releases of some of her "peers" (ahem, jessica simpson) B'Day is an absolute masterpeice.

Word of mouth on this album has been dreadful. Also please aquire the correct information , because from what I'm hearing industry experts, and radio stations both think this album is detestable. For instance yesterday on Amazon.com(US) Beyonce Bday album was rated at 5 stars(highest rating) with over 30 reviews(Primarly Fan reviews with little or no comment besides "It's Hot" or "I love Deja Vu".) After a 24 hr period on Amazon her album has slipped to 3.5 stars and will be lucky to maintain that,(at the rate of decline it is facing). True fans of Beyonce really should acknowlege this album is rushed and the overall content is atrocious. If not Beyonce may fall into the same hole Mariaih fell into in the med 90's - early 2000 period. Don't get me wrong Beyonce WILL SELL ALOT OF RECORDS, because in the U.S all you need is alittle sex appeal and a large fan-base to go platnium..Record companies manuplaite the public into thinking that their music is marvelous, superb, and praiseworthy!! Realizing the deplorable quality of this album they(Columbia Records & Rodeny Jerkins)are attempting to market it as "Beyonce growth as an artist", "Beyonce's change of style or genre" or the wider known "Beyonce's crossing the musical confines of contempery R&B and Hip-Hop". This is just a commenplace marketing scheme. You listen to it for yourself and youll relaize her eariler work is far superior and more distinguished, then this rubbish. Ok. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a huge Beyonce fan....but I think this by far one of the best albums out this year. It's different from all the other garbage they play on the radios now-a-days. Awful. I gave a point for every good song on the album - Deja Vu, Ring The Alarm, Irreplaceable, Listen and Upgrade U - and then took away a point for the dismal single Beautiful Liar and the fact that Listen is only a bonus track. It is soooo dull and uninspired - even worse than her solo effort which is awful.

I like Beyonce. She's gorgeous, talented and appears to be pretty grounded. Upon the release of her debut solo disc Dangerously In Love (and amidst the critical acclaim it garnered across the country) I decided to get the album--boy, did it disappoint! The first handful of tracks (especially the international horn-blarin' smash single "Crazy In Love") sounded brilliant, I like Beyonce. She's gorgeous, talented and appears to be pretty grounded. Upon the release of her debut solo disc Dangerously In Love (and amidst the critical acclaim it garnered across the country) I decided to get the album--boy, did it disappoint! The first handful of tracks (especially the international horn-blarin' smash single "Crazy In Love") sounded brilliant, everything I expected the ex-Destiny's Child leader to produce as a solo artist. But halfway through and this shockingly long record started getting bland. I ended up questioning the majority of critics' reviewing abilities after making it through the 17-track Dangerously In Love. Then Beyonce hit the charts with B'Day, her sophomore effort. Having seen her thumping, if somewhat copycat-ed (off of Britney Spears' entrance during a performance show three years before) performance of the brilliant single "Ring The Alarm" I decided to risk it and purchase her second album. Man, did it sound good! "Deja" is a great opener, if not a bit too similar to Beyonce's debut solo hit "Crazy In Love." "Get Me Bodied" is a nice slice of Hip Hop-influenced R&B; and then arrives "Ring The Alarm." The alarm-blarin' track is brilliant in every sense. "Irreplaceable" is the official closing tune and it adds some Dangerously In Love sound to B'Day. Despite its low moments, like the bland (but not horrible) "Kitty Kat" and such, Beyonce finally delivered a record that actually plays like a record ought to, song-to-song instead of good track-bad track. B'Day is something to celebrate. Expand

Beyonce needs to learn fast that she is mistaken. Most of the tracks, with the exception of singles Deja Vu and Ring the Alarm, and down-beat potential single Irreplaceable, are impossible to understand, with Beyonce alternately mumbling and screaming her words to no good effect. Most of the songs, even with the lyrics on screen to read from, are nonsensical and pointless at best, silly lyrics with bad vocals over alternately dull and migraine inducing repetitive beats. Her vocals, then, are sub-par too. She knocked this album up in a matter of a few weeks, and it shows. Songs like Ring the Alarm, Suga Mamma, Freakum Dress and the like could easily have been performed by a vocalist of Ashanti or Britney's calibre, and while Beyonce would of course sound better singing them than they would, the fact remains that she is wasting the incredible voice that she was so gifted to have. In the days when her contemporaries are producing major release double disc albums, Beyonce's ten sub-par tunes just aren't going to cut it. Expand

Beyonce is the hottest woman in the world. And Beyonce is a great singer. I like all her songs like Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm. She is one of the best singers ever.

B'day is an uptempo album and is definitely all about women.very different from dangerously in love but still got great uptempo songs. i like the 70ish sound on suga mama. very powerful vocals.

How do one follow up a masterpiece like 'Dangerously In Love'? Beyonce has proven that she evolves with every album... On B'Day her voice is more powerful, commanding and she has never sounded better. Truly a piece of art. Favorite tracks: Irreplaceable, Deja Vu, Upgrade U, Flaws & All, Ring The Alarm.

Well, it may be her best album yet, but it's certainly her weirdest. I like the beats, her voice is great, but the lyrics are just ridiculous. I was hoping for something better than ''let's go, little kitty kat'', but overall is a great album and it deserves a listen.

This album is my favorite album of the whole 2006 year! Beyonce has amazing vocals, beats, videos, and choreograpy that sets her work apart from anyone else! Beyonce is the modern Janet Jackson and she is dominating for good reason. If you do not like/love this album then you dont know how to identify good music. Freakum Dress is one of the best song performed live I've ever heard ♥ Upgrade You & Ring The Alarm are very good songs. I love the fact that it's full of uptempos

Better than her debut album thanks to less slower songs and more booty-shaking songs which is what Beyoncé is best for! It's not flawless but there is plenty here to enjoy and it's a great album, especially with one of her biggest hits on the album, Irreplaceable!

the album is cool, but I expect more from her since the album needs a long time to produce. Some of the songs are not memorable.

Beyonce's second best album, even though "B'Day" is only six stars. All of the songs are pretty good, but they just come and go in streaks of liking and disliking them.

"Ring the Alarm" is one of the most interesting song I have ever listened to, but this album just doesn't work out really well for me. It's somewhat imbalanced with the first half being so appealing but the later half being so typical (except for "Irreplaceable").

I am not the biggest Beyonce fan, and I don't really like her music, but songs like "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liars" are songs that I appreciate.

I think: B'Day is the more-creative album of Beyoncé. This girl is an stupid amazing singer, i love her! But I Am... Sasha Fierce is better. The dancing from B'Day, the songs, the letter. B'Day is perfect. Get Me Bodied and Upgrade U are the best songs of the album.

Foxes é maravilhosa. Eu amo tudo o que ela faz, tudo bem feito, impecável. Coisa de artista de verdade, é uma pena ver que não tem o reconhecimento merecido.

ith so many uptempo tracks it may be seen tiring to hear all the tracks, but she show some more of her talents looking at them individually, like the smooth funky ballad Kitty Kat, or the shouty one Green Light. Its not an album to hear easyfully, but its not bad.

  1. Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.

B'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
  3. Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
