MattD.Sep 5, 2006It's disappointing that her upbeat songs aren't quite as melodic this time, but there's no denying the attitude on this CD. The ballads are her best yet.

JulioSotoSep 5, 2006I'm a gay latin boi so I love Beyonce, but I'm a little saturated. It seems like she's everywhere and releading a new something something every single day since "Crazy in Love" came out. i

AdamSep 5, 2006No reason to not like this fun album

derrickpeppersSep 5, 2006On its own, B'Day is an amazing album that will surely garner her many awards in ceremonies to come. In comparison to the recent mind-numbingly aweful releases of some of her "peers" (ahem, jessica simpson) B'Day is an absolute masterpeice.

KaySep 5, 2006This can't be beat and is the hottest album I've heard in '06. Completely up-tempo with 2 killer balads. Thanks Beyonce - you did it again!

ruthwSep 5, 2006Love the live instruments and influence of old funk and old skool R&B!!! I glad she tried some different things than sticking to the same formula as Dangerously In Love!

-
RPSep 5, 2006One of the top 5 best albums of the year due to sheer enjoyability!!

PennyWSep 5, 2006These early reviews have to be kidding me. Although the beats are decent, B'Day is filled with egocentric references and poorly written lyrics that seem to repeat themselves over and over. It may be a step up from Dangerously In Love, but because Beyonce created this album in a rush, it suffers.

SandersCSep 2, 2006The production is weak. A couple more weeks of recording could of made this album a masterpiece.

LisaCSep 2, 2006Much better material than her debut. Favs are: Resentment, Irreplaceable, Upgrade U, Deja Vu, Kitty Kat

LisaMSep 2, 2006I love this album, Beyonce is truly coming into her own. While the CD is not perfect her vocals are perfect. She has really grown vocally. Musically its coming together I would have liked for her to work with other producers and writers but thats ok. I think all in all she delivered a fun album with great vocals. Definitely a step up since the DIL era. Go Beyonce!

Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.
-
BlenderB'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
-
Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
