It's disappointing that her upbeat songs aren't quite as melodic this time, but there's no denying the attitude on this CD. The ballads are her best yet.

I'm a gay latin boi so I love Beyonce, but I'm a little saturated. It seems like she's everywhere and releading a new something something every single day since "Crazy in Love" came out. i

On its own, B'Day is an amazing album that will surely garner her many awards in ceremonies to come. In comparison to the recent mind-numbingly aweful releases of some of her "peers" (ahem, jessica simpson) B'Day is an absolute masterpeice.

This can't be beat and is the hottest album I've heard in '06. Completely up-tempo with 2 killer balads. Thanks Beyonce - you did it again!

This album is very good. Beyoncé ´s vocal perfomence is incredible (generallly in Resentment). Album´s booklet is natural and sexy (mean photo with alligators). Album is not full of boring ballads like in Dangerously In Love, album includes mabye three -but very good ballads. Beyoncé is excellent in live and quicky songs (like Crazy In love) - so the best songs This album is very good. Beyoncé ´s vocal perfomence is incredible (generallly in Resentment). Beyoncé give to youself luxurious and amazing gift - album B´Day! Expand

Love the live instruments and influence of old funk and old skool R&B!!! I glad she tried some different things than sticking to the same formula as Dangerously In Love!

These early reviews have to be kidding me. Although the beats are decent, B'Day is filled with egocentric references and poorly written lyrics that seem to repeat themselves over and over. It may be a step up from Dangerously In Love, but because Beyonce created this album in a rush, it suffers.

The most amazing album of 2006, she is the #1 R&B or Pop female out right now hands down.

The production is weak. A couple more weeks of recording could of made this album a masterpiece.

I love this album, Beyonce is truly coming into her own. While the CD is not perfect her vocals are perfect. She has really grown vocally. Musically its coming together I would have liked for her to work with other producers and writers but thats ok. I think all in all she delivered a fun album with great vocals. Definitely a step up since the DIL era. Go Beyonce!

  1. Whereas Beyoncé's debut was accomplished in its diversity, albeit a sure sign of a new solo artist trying to find her voice, B'Day sounds like the album "Crazy In Love" initially forecasted.

B'Day never cools down, and swaety up-tempo numbers prove the best platform for Beyonce's rapperly phrasing and pipe-flaunting fireballs. [Sep 2006, p.138]
  3. Apart from a few pop-R&B space-fillers, there's not much to dislike about B'Day.
