Kelsey Lu is an artist who managed to make her mark in her first studio work. "Poor Fake" and "I'm Not In Love" are very well executed examples on this album. "Blood" has notorious influences from Solange and Prince, who bring feelings of love and heartbreak to their songs, Kelsey mixed it all together and made a masterpiece flawless which represents in every song everything sentimentalKelsey Lu is an artist who managed to make her mark in her first studio work. Kelsey takes us to another one level in R&B music.

Kelsey Lu faz músicas para se contemplar a imensidão. Faz todo sentido quando se escuta fora do seu quarto, ao nascer do sol e a névoa no horizonte sobre os prédios e a cidade.

This is R&B and dense pop bent to its creators will, rather than anything the other way around. This is Beyoncé for a panic attack. This is, only more and more so with time spent in its valleys and peaks, essential listening.

The spirit of Southern California, and Lu’s subtle experiments with its musical tropes, form the sly engine of Blood, her first full-length album; with an ear still to the elegantly eerie avant-classical compositions of her past, and the chamber-folk philosophizing that anointed Church, she goes more volubly, more unmistakably Los Angeles with the record.

It’s uneven, with flashes of brilliance. Blood is a record that builds slow and steady, as it continually keeps you on your toes with its experimental and exploratory nature.
