Jun 8, 2015It may be a side project but Dwyer really put all his formidable talents into Cold Hot Plumbs.
-
Jun 8, 2015Cold Hot Plumbs cobbles the weird mechanical detritus from last year’s dank and gloomy Hubba Bubba into something capable of using its spindly appendages to pry open your eyelids and shine shafts of colorful light directly through to your brain’s misfiring synapses. Sometimes it even goes down smooth and sweet (you’ll develop any complications with time).
-
Jun 8, 2015There’s now so little difference between an Oh Sees and a Damaged Bug record as for the two to be interchangeable. That’s certainly no bad thing, but not a new thing either. Perhaps Dwyer’s career is in stasis for once.
-
Jun 8, 2015Cold Hot Plumbs’ main failing is that it occasionally can feel like a pedestrian experiment in honoring some of Dwyer’s favorite bands that Thee Oh Sees’ psych rock sound was too straightforward to capture.
