Beyond brilliant. Unlike "Color" a real sense of emotion overtakes the listener and creates an atmosphere that spans from the inevitability of death to the hopefulness of the future. The amazing interconnection of sounds to the beauty of the music goes far beyond her usual experimental digital magic. "Bracer" the centerpiece of this album, is a modern classic. Gately's soft vocal melodies audible through the layers of madness, leading you to points of strange beauty and lyrical wonder. [Jan 2017, p.97]

Gately is capable of a more consistent release, but as a starting point, Color leaves you itching to see where inevitable maturity will take her approach.

Color is an album of two halves, with gloomier hues on side two. [Nov 2016, p.53]
