Khruangbin's "Con Todo El Mundo" sounds different to the band's first album "The Universe Smiles Upon You". It took me a few minutes to get used to the change. And i love it. It's rich in sound and of course relaxing as hell. I am enjoying the new tracks and I already can't wait to hear their next ones. Congratulations to Laura, Mark and Donald.

Their first album left me with almost unreasonably high expectations which is never fair to a band. That said, this second project is pretty nice. A couple of songs don't really work but overall it's perfectly groovy.

While album two adds flavours from the Mediterranean and Iran, the fundamental intent is the same with less-is-more funk beats and bass providing an opiated shagpile foundation for Mark Speer's light-touch guitar lines. [Apr 2018, p.111]

The disc’s first half is most engrossing, especially the slinky, smouldery swagger of “Lady and Man,” which whips up funk intensity with explosive starts and stops. ... Late album tracks drift and drone, pillow-padded with angelic “oohs” and paced for motionless contemplation.

The result is a border-blurring convergence, one likely to propel whatever dance floor is lucky enough to receive it.
