Guthrie folds delicate electronic treatments into his statuesque, joyous melodies. [Jul 2006, p.95]
  2. Depending on how much Robin Guthrie you want in your life, Continental is either redundant or another reason to love him.
  3. Guthrie's creative spark is as bright as ever.
  4. Really, there are few surprises here, but there is a crucial one, which is that Continental gradually reveals itself to be a solidly constructed and rather strong collection.

I don't like New Age/Ambient music, but this CD is in another class of its own. It is the sound of the old Cocteau Twins master using his musical sensibilities in another bewitching way. My only complaint is that it is not at least 10 minutes longer. Full Review »
