    This is one of Cohen's worst albums. The tempos are painfully slow, Cohen's voice is nothing more than a hoarse whisper, and his backup singer takes the lead, which is the silliest thing I've ever heard. The instrumentals are deprived of any complexity, emotion, or dynamics. Thank god Cohen is a half-decent poet, or where would he be right now, for he cannot write entertaining music for his life.
