    An instant classic. For Sure is an instant standout. Also every of her single shows that classic CRJ but at the same time very refreshing sounds apart from those broody, R'n'B tinged pop from recent female pop stars

    Honing the 80s sound once again with so many brand new sounds and flavors Carly Rae Jepsen did not disappoint the fans that she's garnered over the 'EMOTION hype' there are songs that carry on the EMOTION brand but definitely in a new light due to her musical growth. Some of the standout tracks for me has to be 'Want You In My Room' 'For Sure' and 'Everything He Needs' these are whereHoning the 80s sound once again with so many brand new sounds and flavors Carly Rae Jepsen did not disappoint the fans that she's garnered over the 'EMOTION hype' there are songs that carry on the EMOTION brand but definitely in a new light due to her musical growth. Some of the standout tracks for me has to be 'Want You In My Room' 'For Sure' and 'Everything He Needs' these are where Jepsen feels she's at the pique of her character they're so romantically and emotionally modest.     Pure pop perfection, as expected. If there is one thing Carly knows how to do best, it's to make countless nostalgic bops for all of us. Standouts like "Julien" and "Too Much" shape the sound of one of the best records of the year so far, if not the best. While EMOTION was even better, there are hardly any faults to report on Dedicated's part. Plus, the amazing cover art doesn't hurt either!

    Carly Rae Jepsen is a master in crafting pop songs into near perfect works of art that never age. Dedicated is by far her strongest project, even topping her 2015 classic Emotion. Following Carly’s music is a religion that only the dedicated (no pun intended) passionately practice.

    The album shows a side of Carly that feels fresh yet so her, she delivers amazing vocals and song writing along with a great production, I love how she expands her feelings without any doubt, from songs like “Want You In My Room” to “Party For One” she tells a story that feels very close to her, SHE HAS DONE AN AMAZING THING ONCE AGAIN, QUEEEEEN!

    Carly had said that this is album is the type of music to clean your house to- now I want to clean my house all the time. She put together a pop album that not only shows how well she knows her own sound (keeping a similar sound to Emotion), but how she is still able to grow and evolve.     After having an album as flawless and critically acclaimed as Emotion, and with having albums that were quite subpar in her early career, it was easy to get nervous about what Dedicated would provide. With earlier released tracks Now That I Found You and No Drug Like Me having more of a stereotypical radio pop song sound, expectations weren't settled. Although, after the full album release, things aligned perfectly in Carly's favour and any anxiety present was settled.

    The tracks previously mentioned do fit in perfectly well when the rest of the album is realised. It's a similar idea to I Really Like You fronting Emotion. It may be better for radio impact, but not for critical eye until the theme shines through. Carly didn't explore a brand new topic for her songs, but why pick a new lyrical topic when you have one that is so vast and mysterious. Love is something that Carly knows well, and everyone else knows it well too. Relatability is one of the keys to great pop. Want You In My Room is perfectly 80s reminiscent for enthusiastic room cleaning. Too Much is emotionally raw, a rhythmic rainfall and incredibly catchy. For Sure is a great 14th track to settle the album down with, as vocals simmer at just the right length to let drums and elephant noises leave the listener at peace. I haven't heard a pop album this good since Emotion, and I can't wait to see what Carly does next.    … Expand

Fans of 70s, 80s, and 90s pop will find a thoughtful modern take.     Perfection. Carly Rae Legend came for our throats with this one. Not sure if it’s better than EMOTION, but it doesn’t need to be. This was worth the 4 year wait. Pop music that is so unrelentingly pop that it’s basically niche. Love it.

    I definitely expected to like this album given just how much I adored the pre-release singles and of course Carly's complete catalogue, however, I certainly wasn't prepared for what Carly graced us with on 17 May.     Pop that gives you goosebumps. Pop that makes your heart soar. Pop that leaves a lump in your throat. Pop that activates your tear ducts and leaves a smile a mile wide on your face. Carly Rae Jepsen's "Dedicated" is the antidote to 2019. This is how modern pop music should be. Catchy, infectious, joyful, melancholy and fun. Pop never went away. It just got better. 10/10

    A great follow up to her last album Emotion, Dedicated hits just as hard and keeps the same vibe of great synths mixed in with pop ballads. Carly certainly has figured out what works and is sticking to it with this one. Definitely would recommend this cohesive and catchy pop masterpiece!

    Brilliant growth since E•MO•TION. Production is top notch. Highlights are Want You In My Room, Everything He Needs, The Sound, Automatically In Love and Real Love. It’s criminal that she isn’t a bigger commercial success.

    I’m really proud of Carly. She had huge shoes to fill following up Emotion, and instead of trying to make the same again, she went a different direction and nailed it without losing what makes her so great. She is elevated pop, bringing in nuanced emotions into catchy songs about love. These songs take more time to grow on you than Emotion, but it’s worth it.

    One of the best pop albums I’ve listened to in a long time. Continuing with a sound similar to her last album, Emotion, Carly Rae brings us back to the era of 2000s pop, when pop music was at it’s peak. Refusing to jump on the current bandwagon of trap and other hip-hop beats, Carly Rae Jepsen reclaims her title as the Savior of Pop Music.

    First full listen it gave me a vibe of "continuation and progression of E-MO-TION" / "Emotion 2.0". I think this is/was mostly due to its heavily 80's inspired production, similar to the production theme of E-MO-TION. However, upon further listening there are definitely a fair share of differences, nuances, and unqie bits in production, songwriting and vocal delivery that make this albumFirst full listen it gave me a vibe of "continuation and progression of E-MO-TION" / "Emotion 2.0". I think this is/was mostly due to its heavily 80's inspired production, similar to the production theme of E-MO-TION. However, upon further listening there are definitely a fair share of differences, nuances, and unqie bits in production, songwriting and vocal delivery that make this album worthy of praising without needing to compare it to prior work. 1/3 of the tracks are very heavily disco / nu-disco (COW BELL!) influenced while the rest is a grab bag of dance and synth pop and some contemporary bits ("Everything He Needs"). Many of the synths remind me a lot of the ones used in new wave music. Overall a catchy, good listen that's easy to digest and enjoy without skipping tracks and heavy repeatability.     Stunning groovy 80's inspired electro-pop. The synths float and wooze there way through hook after hook whilst her cool sugary voice floats atop the boppy goodness. The critics darling has done it again after her hard to follow masterpiece E-MO-TION.

    5 months into 2019 this Is the forerunner for pop album of the year.

    Awesome album although I wouldn’t consider it superior to Emotion it definitely competes. In some ways this album feels more like a throwback than Emotion but it still feels fresh and modern with the help of the lyrics.

    It's been a long time coming since her last full album, and it was worth the wait. She's put careful consideration into the track order, each song developing the narrative of love and loss and growth that Carly is so familiar with. Like in E•MO•TION, the production on these tracks is insanely good, so much fine detail and little touches (Especially in "For Sure") that seperate her from theIt's been a long time coming since her last full album, and it was worth the wait. My favourite songs off the album are "No Drug Like Me" and "Want You In My Room", both of which feel like they've been sitting in Carly's song vault since 1984, perfectly nostalgic in their campy 80's goodness (even though I wasn't alive then) with equally infectious hooks. Definitely one of, if not THE best album of 2019 so far, and can't wait for the inevitable Dedicated Side B… Expand

    Carly Rae Jepsen... the mother I never had, but always wanted. A mix of synth and 80's pop, nothing could have been better than this masterpiece.

    A pop album that make you dance is always worth the try, and carly is just the best on doing that. JUST AMAZING!!

    Dedicated is the best album of 2019, cheeky sounds on want you in my room and the majestic party for one show how great Carly is in her prime while the mysterious no drug like me is a masterpiece of pop perfection, one of my favourites is everything he needs and too much, two amazing dance bangers that have me screaming the lyrics

    There could be an argument that a couple of edits to make the track listing shorter would have resulted in an even more effective album. However, this is easily one of the best pop albums of the year as it is: one that’s unlikely to be bettered unless a certain Ms Swift really pulls it out of the bag.

    Dedicated isn’t a perfect album--it’s overlong and occasionally concedes too much to chart tastes to be interesting. But by the time Jepsen takes a bow following bonus track “Party For One,” you’re reminded once again of her generosity, of all the space she’s cleared for strength and weakness, for personal epiphanies and communal release.
