Effluxion was exactly what you expected an album from Telekinesis to be. The familiarities are comforting because they are so effective. The slight nuances from the band keeps you coming back for more. If you were waiting for Telekinesis to make an album you liked, you have me your match with Effluxion.

Telekinesis isn't often cited as one of America's best and smartest pop acts, but Effluxion demonstrates Learner lives up to that billing, and this LP is a real treat for power pop obsessives and anyone who likes some melodies with their rock & roll.

A power-pop potpourri that falls between the Beatlesque formalism of Cotton Mather and the eruptive emotionality of Car Seat Headrest. [Mar 2019, p.34]

Telekinesis seems content with not changing, but the surprising conclusion, "Out for Blood," presents hope for the future.
