The production feels refreshingly raw, but the pop sweetening--mostly in the R&B-style choruses and backing vocal tracks--is distracting. Still, this intriguing hodgepodge affirms Rhymefest as a hip-hop eccentric who dreams big.

Though prolific with tracks and mixtapes, Smith still hasn’t mastered the LP form; though excellent, this feels more like a discombobulated collection of singles than a cohesive album.

While Rhymefest is a rock-solid rapper--this is the guy who once beat Eminem in Scribble Jam, after all--he also blunts his own impact with corny jokes.
