Strong follow up to part 1, with much more emphasis on guitars this time around. Very spicy 10/10

While there were one or two songs on the album I didn't care for, Very overwhelmingly the album is tops! Highly recommended for either Foals fans or entry level.

Overall decent record, but poor mixing and self repetitiveness making it mediocre. "Neptune" kicks ass.

Releasing what really is a double album in every way including its name but as 2 separate releases 6 months apart is an interesting move. I'm not sure what the reasoning was. I've yet to find any interview with the band that explains the decision in meaningful detail.
Who knows, but whatever the reason, the good news for Foals fans is we get to delve into a new album twice in 6 months. While not my favourite Foals album, I enjoyed Part 1 and was looking forward to Part 2. It hasn't disappointed in that its a solid Foals album in the traditional sense, much closer in style to their earlier material than Part 1 was, which was a relative departure in style. This is perhaps one reason why there were two separate releases. Focusing on this particular album, it's well put together across the board, songwriting, performance and production. It will satisfy fans of the band without breaking too far out to grab new fans. I must listen to Part 1 and 2 together now, see if there are any overlapping patterns or whatever. There is a feeling that there was one really strong ENSWBL in there across the 20 tracks but then again maybe I'm missing something. Most likely I am as these guys are a top end outfit.

The musicians saturated the work with electronic instruments, which updated and imagined the sound of the group. There are enough lyrics, and heavy guitar parts, and the dramatic voice of Yannis sounds penetrating and corrosive, leaving a deep emotional trace from listening. The album impressed and hung on a repeat.

____ Frankly, I began to listen to this release from the second part and it turned out that it is beautiful even without the context of the first. It was risky enough to split 20 tracks into two albums. But Foals musicians can now safely drink champagne in honor of their success, because in the end they got two great albums of equal value.

Now on what must be close to the 50th listen, my verdict is that this is a masterpiece, very nearly the perfect masterpiece the band promised, but it does fall down slightly in the mid section. This album sounds best when listened in order. Like Lightning and Ikari just don't quite reach the same peak as the other tracks. But make no mistake, it is the closing 3 tracks, that set this album apart from their previous work and works from other brands. In the Surf is simply beautiful and eloquent and very moving. 10,000 feet is a bruising rock ballad with echoes of past James Bond songs. The Runner screams Duran Duran and the Inxs but does it will aplomb. And despite these similarities, no one has pulled off anything so creative and epic in a long while; all the way through the album there is a reverberating baseline builds and builds - the way the album builds slowly to a crescendo while maintaining its tempo and balance with incredibly well written lyrics to fortify it is nothing short of utter genius. In a way, ever since they started to turn their rudder in a more Indie-rock inspired direction with What Went Down, I have been waiting and longing for them to produce an album like this. Everything they promised you get. If you liked WWD, you will absolutely love this. To claim this is the best Indie Rock effort in almost 10 years is definitely no exaggeration. They obviously imparted influences from other bands and genres, but somehow everything sounds so original and fresh. Perhaps that last opinion depends on the ears listening. I am only giving this a 9 and not a 10, because of the two tracks that don't quite work, so objectively this is a 9 but in my hearts of hearts this is a 10. Any critics worth their salt get this album , and the others, well slightly biased by their musical tastes perhaps? Some might prefer Part 1, which is by no means any less a masterpiece, but I rate Part 2 higher. Surely this will get number 1 in the UK? Expand

Но самая вкуснота припрятана в «Black Bull» — абсолютно неожиданно вязкий гараж, с плотным фуззом в лучших традициях The Dead Weather и The Hives. Нельзя не отметить и отличный риф на «Like Lightning», вобравший в себя лучшее из ранних Arctic Monkeys.

I absolutly fell in love instantly with a lot of songs in this album, Wash Off was an incredible blast that brings a lot of what they learned across their career, Red Desert and The Runner together gives the perfect kick off to a consistent flow that follows until the very end.

There is nothing more breathtaking than how Red Desert goes over to The Runner. Clearly at the peak of their powers, each album has been a progression featuring more & more styles. This album is remarkable considering it is the second release this year.

Pt.1 was such an exciting deviation for Foals that it would be disappoitning if it proved just a mere detour on their way to producing empty, arena-sized rock. Here, they not only return to their formula, but ramp it up to dangerous levels. It’s brash, loud, and, ultimately, tiresome.

Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2 doesn’t quite live up to the lofty benchmarks set by Part 1—or really any Foals record to date—but that doesn’t mean there’s not a lot to enjoy here.

Whether or not they needed two full-length albums to fill up the dancefloor this time around is up for debate, but while Foals may be peddling a familiar product, there's no denying its efficacy.
