J5 undoubtedly finds themselves in a sticky situation. If you ask someone with little to no knowledge of the hip-hop scene, usually the one respectable name they might be able to throw out is J5. Make no mistake, Feedback is not Quality Control, J5 Ep, or even their most recent release prior to this, Power in Numbers. No wonder why Jurrasic 5 released it with the title FEEDBACK. Make no mistake, Feedback is not Quality Control, J5 Ep, or even their most recent release prior to this, Power in Numbers. No wonder why Jurrasic 5 released it with the title FEEDBACK. It is unfair and silly to criticize this album with the argument that it is not "as good" as their prior releases. Let's take Feedback for what it is. The album is consistent, and it maintains the positivity and insightfulness J5 is known for. "Different parts of the picture highlight the same frame," exclaims Tuna on the track Work it Out. J5 plays an vital role on the hip hop scene, being one of the only groups that may be able to cross back and forth between the two banks many of us have labelled "underground" and "mainstream." In the end, good music is good music, and Feedback is, at the least, deserving of being called that. If you haven't heard J5 before this would be a wonderful album to get your feet wet before you dive into their classic stuff. It's all there waiting...buena suerte! This is my first time listening to J5 but I think this album is really good for all the shit its getting. I dont typically like more than 2 0r 3 tracks on an album and this one has at least 5. the beats are sick and it deserves to be listened to.

i don't know how people can give this a bad rating, there music is unique i don't need a critic sat on his ass all day to tell me it's a bad album. it doesn't perhaps have the best song they have ever made on it but every song is good there are no throw away tracks that you find on 99% of rap albums.

A fun, breezy effort that recaptures the tone of "Quality Control". Only overstepping there boundries on a few tracks, "Feedback" is a welcome return for Jurrassic 5.

My favorite tracks are 5, 6 and 9. It would be a 10 if it weren't for being so short (less than an hour) and track 3, which sounds more like a latina female's song with guest rappers J5 (à la BEP). That last instrumental track caught me off guard; I like it but never thought I'd hear a guitar laden instrumental on a Hip-Hop CD.

It is not the best Jurassic album, but it has a lot of great tracks on it. The first single, "Work It Out", is the worst song I have heard in awhile from this area of hip hop. On the other hand, there are several that have really gotten me to bob my head along. Tracks like "Gotta Understand" and "Radio" are classic Jurassic 5 beats and rhymes. It has been 4 years, so I would be upset if they put out another PIN or QC. I think that the group took my favorite elements from their last albums and just upped the ante, from the funk samples to mike trading and harmonizing. I have listened to this album for the last five days straight, so... I am a definite fan. Expand

There are a few unexpected surprises, but still a great album. J5 does not disappoint and it's great to hear some good hip hop to get around all the crap that has been put out lately.

DMB is an interesting addition to their sound, don't exactly think it is their best sound. But there are many tracks to appreciate on this well-rounded album that doesn't nearly deserve all the bad reviews. Check it out yourself, it's worth it

I agree, this is not PIN, but is a solid J5 album. I also agree, it is far too short. But, J5 has also produced as good a product as the rap industry has to offer for many years, and this is no exception. If you have the patience to enjoy a second and third listen, the wonderous subtilties of this gem will illuminate and inspire many spins around the club and the house!!!

A bit short, but I love their track "Word it Out" with Dave Matthews Band. There are only a couple of songs on this album that I don't like. This was the first J5 album that I ever bought and listened to though, so maybe thats why i'm giving it a higher rating than the rest of you. I guess i'll check out their older stuff.

This album is worth more than a 51. Obviously the critics who gave J5 a lower score than a 70, don't like their style of music. If you like Jurassic 5, and their unique sound, then you will like Feedback.

Great alternative to mainstream 'gangsta' rap these days, even if it's not as good as their previous albums

We can't blame it all on the puzzling guest appearances because back in the day, J5 would've saved those slip-ups. [Jul/Aug 2006, p.124]
