Oct 14, 2020Brilliant album. Highly eclectic and the songs just grow and grow on each listen from start to finish. He seems to combine my favourite elements of the Mars Volta, Angelo and Prince with heaps of other influences. Standouts Dream Palette, Kerosene and a Greater Love

Sep 3, 2020It is by far one of the best albums of 2020. A true masterpiece, thanks Yves Tumor for this excellent record!
-
Aug 26, 2020The whole album it's an explicit and direct narrative about feelings. Verses are emotional and self-sacrificing, bridges are expressively bombing. My favourites are Romanticist + Dream Palette. I think I'll be returning to the album long after.

Jul 28, 2020From top to bottom, my favorite album of his yet. Which says a lot considering the greatness of Safe In the Hand of Love...

Apr 24, 2020Yves non l'avevo mai ascoltato ma quest'album è stato amore immediato. Sono giorni che lo ascolto e ci sono tracce assolutamente imperdibili quali Kerosene e Strawberry privilege. Consigliatissimo

Apr 13, 2020An exceptional pivot from noise collage work to lighter experimentation with traditional rock textures from an artist whose previous genre fusion has carved an elegant path to their current mastery of the form.
Favourite tracks: All of them, seriously
Least favourite: None but the bass on Identity Trade was so wonky it took some adjustment -

Apr 9, 2020Just an incredible album. I was a big fan of Bowie's last full length and this one did not disappoint, better in every way. He has solidified himself as a true heavy hitter on Warp's lineup. When this decade is over, you'll see this one on the lists, no doubt about it.
-
Apr 5, 2020A very well composed album that does take influence from a lot of artists from other genres, but in turn it makes it more accessible than his previous body of work “Safe in the Hands of Love”. I enjoyed the album front to back multiple times and many of the songs stick to me very well.

Apr 5, 2020Angular and jarring in sound, Heaven To A Tortured Mind is bursting with moments that rightly challenge the listener, quickly rewarding them every time. Displaying true creativity and dodging any predictable musical structures, Yves Tumor has shared the perfect album to escape everything bad happening in 2020 - even if for only half an hour.

Apr 4, 2020Very 80s influenced magpie. Bit of Gary Newman here, Ultravox there even Duran Duran. Doesn't really come together as a whole.
-
Apr 3, 2020Watch out! Overated junk. That guy have just way too many idols, and not enough skills to emulate then all. Junk. Pretentious and overhyped. The females are decent at what they do tho.
But I may be wrong. -

-
May 11, 2020Heaven To A Tortured Mind isn't necessarily the most dynamic release by the artist, but in its best moments, it's a heaping dose of musical ingenuity.
-
Apr 27, 2020Heaven to a Tortured Mind eliminates the diversity and nuance of its predecessor in favour of underdeveloped avant-pop.
-
Apr 15, 2020While there are moments that feel less remarkable (the insignificant Hasdallen Lights or the groovy but repetitive Asteroid Blues), Heavens to a Tortured Mind succeeds when it’s mostly focused on creating a sensual yet serious mood throughout.
