Oct 14, 2018Rich Robinson goes from strength to strength after the dissolusion of the beloved Black Crowes. Psychedelic one minute (the jam-band-meets-Stone-Roses "High Water") to the nasty blues of "Send Me An Omen" to echoes of Poco in "Walk On Water", and it's all tasty. Former Crowes and new faces mix into a fine combo that makes precision look easy and loose at the same time. Bravo, sirs.

Aug 10, 2018High Water I will satisfy those fans who have been missing music that sounds like the Crowes--it's much bolder and simpler than Rich Robinson's appealingly rambling Flux, for instance--but it's also true that the Magpie Salute doesn't attempt to do much here but hit their mark with precision.

Aug 8, 2018With High Water I, The Magpie Salute have hit on a warm, rich vein of inspiration that might well sustain them for some time. [Aug 2018, p.88]

MojoAug 8, 2018If there's a sense that the material has yet to coalesce to its strongest and most consistent point, there's much that bodes well for High Water II, due in 2019. [Sep 2018, p.86]
