Unlike its predecessor, this is a very pleasant suprise. An album full of lush sounds, great melodies. On constant repeat since I got it. His voice has rarely sounded so good on record.

This, however, is great. The first phase was... meh, but this is the true Prince. Don't think this is going to sound the same as the previous album, it's something much better.

This must be the best work of Prince in over a decade. It may consist of songs we already know, but they flow so nicely together. Let's forget Phase One (apart from some good tunes), it's Phase Two all over. Welcome back Prince, glad you never left.

Before Prince killed himself he told us a dozen times that this was his last days. He even goes so far as to conclude his album with the song "June" that explores his thoughts about life and death, regrets and deep thoughts. For those still not willing to accept that he killed himself, his last words on the album are THATS IT ! followed by one second of album silence for each album heBefore Prince killed himself he told us a dozen times that this was his last days. Great late Prince. You can hear that he had a lot of ideas in him. Spirit never left Prince. Those 'Phases' were like some preparation for something more and exciting like always with him. Song Revelation is a miracle.. Love U prince. Rest in peace.

What can i say? I haven't stopped listening to this album since it was released. This is great music. Every song is good. Prince's voice is as strong as ever, the lyrics are clever, sexy and meaningful. The music! Guitars, bass, horns, oh my! My favorite racks are Black Muse, Groovy Potential, When She Comes and Look At Me, Look At U. This is one of Princes best.

I am lovin' every sexy second of HitnRunPhaseTwo, he lays down those lyrics while the music is taken you for an exciting ride; the melodies are soothing to the ears. Reflecting on the album it very creative & clever, right on point. The Instruments are…Let me stop right here…whew! Someone get me coconut water on ice, to cool off.

"Hitnrun: Phase Two" is the album Phase One should have been if it was, you know, good. Phase Two doesn't try to copy a trend, and instead finds its own identity. Phase Two is an incredibly jazzy alum that covers a multitude of topics and presents some of Prince's best and most underrated work.

This album hits the ground running with "Baltimore; a great commentary on the current political state of the United States, with some fantastic background vocals and guitar riffs. "RocknRoll Love Affair" tells a cute little story about boy meets girl, with horns to boot. "Xtraloveable" is another hit with more of the jazzy instrumentation that I love.

Some of the songs near the end are a bit forgettable or in the case of "When She Comes" stays falsetto for far too long. With that being said, this is a vast departure from Phase One and for the better.

Even in the midst of the fairly wretched Phase Two there are gems but you sure have to dig for them. [Feb 2016, p.54]

And so, yet again, Prince remains an artist in sore need of an outside editor. Still, if your attention span as a Prince fan has been sorely tested, HITnRUN Phase Two is a good point to reconnect with him. [Mar 2016, p.113]

It adds up to his most consistently engaging album in years, blending in echoes of the ghosts of Prince past (à la “Sexy MF” and “Come”) while still sounding refreshingly modern.
