This is just the best album I heard this year by a male artist. Coming for a new artist it's quite impressive!

How Sam Fender can be so overrated nowadays as well as Lewis Capaldi?
This album is a masterpiece ✨

A perfect antidote to the awful tripe from the likes of Lewis Capaldi. Along with Gerry Cinnamon, Sam Fender could be the saviour of modern music. Clean, crisp and melodic with hints of Springsteen and War on drugs with lyrics that resonate and bite with meaning and purpose.

Hypersonic Missiles isn't bad... but it's almost like Sam Fender is a gateway act for kids who will eventually get into the real deals in time. I see Springsteen mentioned alot in the talk about this album but I think Bryan Adams is a more accurate comparison, this with an attempt to cross that style with the War on Drugs modern take on the heartland rock genre. The singles are quite good and I'd rather hear this stuff on daytime radio than lots of the garbage to be heard. There are plenty of decent moments but it is so polished that the production takes away lots of authenticity from it. Good luck to the guy, he's writing his own stuff and seems like a decent skin. Based on his own material, he is borrowing his ideas from a starting point of good taste and he has an ear for a tune. Could be another Noel Gallagher or he could disappear. You could do worse. A good album overall. It has some great singles such as the title track, Play God and That Sound, but the deep cuts are weaker. You're Not The Only One sounds like a copy-paste of The Borders (which is a decent song) and I can't stand the message of White Privilege. Also the amount of ballads feel excessive, but for a solo debut, it's a good listen

Hypersonic Missiles is a solid debut album from Sam Fender. With a mix of modern rock & more radio friendly sounds, the Georgie rocker utilises his strong vocals as well as his excellent songwriting ability to produce an all round good experience. Stand out tracks include the title track Hypersonic Missiles, the meaningful Dead Boys, and also Will We Talk.

PS: ele escreveu todinho sozinho,o que pra mim é extremamente incrível, já que todas as letras são profundas e ele transita entre diferentes assuntos sem soar desesperado ou entediar o ouvinte. Sam Fender's debut album shows that he has a strong start in his career in music. This album is calming; and although some songs don't fit well, there are lots of great songs in this album.

Mostly, though, this is everything a debut should be: fascinating, confused and a little bit terrified.

Hypersonic Missiles on its own is unsatisfying, and the overconfident presentation risks stifling his voice before he’s found it.
