The production on this album really makes this album great. Lil B's lyrics are not the best, however he has a positive message, and truly enjoys what he does.

Eventually a rapper with an acceptance message ! 'I'm Gay', modified by 'I'm Gay (I'm Happy)' after the many controversies the rapper went through, is another of the numerous bricks constituting Lil B's discography. Here (finally) it sounds way more as an album rather than another mixtape.

Lil B showcased interesting samples during this project and tackled many deep subjects. Sometimes way too superficially, sometimes in a way more profound sense. He even gets socio-political and constructive from time to time ! Lil B compiles in here many of his today's life observations even if he often forgets in a weird way to connect those with the rest of the the main storyline. The production is interesting even if some tracks definitely sounds foggy, drafty or unclear. According to me it participates to the beauty of the record. 'Unchain Me' and 'Gon Be Okay' are the more precise examples to demonstrate it.

However this 44-minute long album sounds endless as the last tracks feels unnecessary. Lil B's jaded and lazy flow definitely doesn't help to get over this particular impression. Considering adding a featuring or two wouldn't have been a repelling idea to help Lil B getting diversified.

There is no doubt that this side of Lil B is his most genuine and I'm sure as a statement Im Gay (Im Happy) is sincere just not quite how you might have assumed.

We'll simply have to look at I'm Gay as a sign that B might not prove to be the flash in the pan that so many haters hope he is.

Listeners who buy into B's unique worldview on I'm Gay (I'm Happy) will quickly discover that while he's far from a political trailblazer, at least he's completely sincere.
