Bold, immersive, and not easy to pin down, Interview Music affords Idlewild the space to find renewal in new ideas, a record driven by conviction, collaboration and the urge towards communication.
  2. They seem driven by the joy of making music great again. It won’t change the world, but record is a wonderful world all of their own.

With Interview Music, Idlewild have made another beautifully crafted, memorable rock record while at the same time giving their sound space to evolve. If Everything Ever Written signaled the beginning of Idlewild MK II, then Interview Music finds them discovering just what the new Idlewild is capable of.

Interview Music contains a sense of maturity and introspection, infusing the record with a quality that can only come from artists with a defined sense of who they are at their core.

Post-Electric had a couple of good songs, Everything Ever Written had nothing... this album is a slight improvement over Everything Ever Written I think, but still average. I really loved early Idlewild stuff and they're one of my favourite bands, and I hope they'll one day find the inspiration to write something as good as 100 Broken Windows or The Remote Part again...
