They both talk about mental Health and their way to recovery and happiness, climaxing in the Outro "Cudi Montage", which can be considered a Track about Kanye's and Cudi's reunion after their split back a few years ago.
Both Artists perform some of their best craft yet, with Kid Cudi nearly returning to MOTM levels, and Kanye being as strong as ever, with quality production and good vocals. The album gives an in-depth look into mental states of two of the most beloved rappers/singers, which is also reflected in the sound of the beats. If Kanye West's "ye" Is what Heaven sounds like, then Kids see Ghost is the exact, equally good, opposite.

"KIDS SEE GHOSTS" is very well executed from start to finish. Kanye brings an intense, almost psychedelic level of production to this project. Ye also delivers some of his best verses lyrically since his classic MBDTF in 2010. Delving into the subject of mental health, both Kanye and Cudi construct a clear concept for the album. They complement each other, the sound works, and the emotions are there. I know this sounds more personal than professional, but I guess that shows you what this album is worth. "Reborn" is definitely my favorite track, made me think of mi current situation and my relationship with the spiritual aspect of life (that applies to the whole album). Slowly, the music builds up to what it looks like a process of trying to stay alive and fighting to escape. This situation, finally, breaks with a successful break out, descriped as a rebirth as the duo find themselves in a new sleeve as both individuals and artists.

4th dimention is the greatest song here. It's amazing. The beginning sample has madlib intro-style. The beat is amazing, the kanye verse is definitely good with an amazing ending. The laughter into Cudi's verse is amazing, and his flow is great. I like the ending as well

Freeee is a great beat, even if it was ripped. The vocal layers are great, and all artists provide some of their greatest singing ever. Ty Dolla Sign steals the show though, and the synths at the end are great.

Reborn goes a little long, but sounds like something straight off Man on the Moon 2. I would have liked it more if it were 1-2 minutes less because of the repetitive hook.

The title track is another highlight. The beat is great, Mos Def delivers a great hook that switches to Cudi. The flows and verses are great, and Mos Def's outtro is great.

Cudi Montage is a great finisher. I don't really know what to say other than that it's an emotional track.

Overall, there are no bad songs, and some of the greatest peaks in either Kanye or Cudi's career. It encapsulates the Man on The Moon 2 Cudi, with a variety of Kanye production and his best rapping. It's the perfect collaboration, and can't wait for a second album

The thing is Kanye and Cudi comeI was unsure what to expect going into this album considering Kid Cudi's latest work. While I was a huge fan of Kid Cudi in 2010 but since WZRD it has been a downward spiral. Kanye on the other hand has always delivered consistently great work and knows how to get the best out of a lot of artists especially Cudi (ex: Father Stretch my hands pt. 1 hook). The thing is Kanye and Cudi come together perfectly on every song here and despite it's short run time there is no shortage of incredible music, well thought out lyrics and different musical styles. One fear I had was that the ideas of the album wouldn't be fleshed out, but Daytona, Ye and Kids See Ghosts to their credit all get across big ideas in short run times.

I think to many people this will feel like a Kid Cudi album featuring Kanye, and while I disagree I understand the sentiment. The reason I think this is truly a group album is the joint production, the joint vision, and Kanye's incredible verses. I am not sure who produced a majority of the album but Kanye's influence can definitely be felt.

On the opening track Cudi's signature vocals ring and Pusha T delivers a monster verse. But the real stand out was Kanye's random gun sounds. At first I thought this was the worst thing since poop and scoop but it really fits the theme of the album as well as the energy of the song. After this craziness finally comes to end and you think the song is over, you hear him yell out in almost pure anger "Where's the chorus." And the energy of the song is suddenly back again. For such a short song it does a lot.

The next song is fire. While probably my least favorite song on the album it's definitely still great. Kanye and Kid Cudi deliver really short but painful verses that are magnified by Kid Cudi's amazing hook. It's then followed up a beautiful outro guitar that might be the best moment on the whole album.

4th dimension is probably my favorite song off of this album. Backed by an amazing sample that is unmistakabley the work of Kanye. It's the last painful song on the album and also the last short song (which is notable considering the ending sample). Kanye delivers an insane verse about sex which to many may seem out of place but Kanye fan's understand that he has been battleing with a sex and porn addiction for years. He has talked about it on MBDTF, Yeezus, Pable and Ye. So it makes sense in an album about their mental health issues he would bring up this addiction. Kid Cudi's verse is intro'd with these ghost noises which feels so MOTM2 (Man on the moon 2) and the verse itself feels like a throwback to 2010 as well.

On Free you get a call out to ghost town off of Ye. Both songs obviously address the feelings of being free and my interpretation is that the knowledge of themselves they have gained through introspection on the first 3 track is what's giving them this feeling. While lyrically simple this track is still incredible.

Reborn is the longest song on the album and for good reason. Intro'd by the signature kid cudi moans it leads right into the hook delivered by Kid Cudi. Straight forward and simple, it flows with the beat perfectly and is the catchiest hook on the album. Kanye delivers another great verse with his best flow so far on the album. I love the lines about wanting all the pain and the idea of flipping this into his amazing art. Kid Cudi delivers a solid verse as well and the outro is fairly lengthy but beautiful and relaxing the whole way out.

Kids See ghosts features a great beat and is a change of pace from the slower reborn. The hook is amazing. Kanye gives a lengthy verse with maybe his best flow since MBDTF. Mos Def's verse/poem at the end really closes out and this feels like it could be the end of the story.
But we are given one final track.

Cudi montage starts out with this awesome guitar that I couldn't place myself but is apparently a sample from Kurt Cobain. Of note it's a post humous track and maybe the usage itself is alluding to what can happen when mental health isn't taken seriously. Kid Cudi and Kanye's verses both talked about cycles fears and pains they are trapped in (though Kanye's may not be himself directly affected). The hook is extremely simple being just some moans and "STAY STRONG" echo'd but it's really powerful considering the last line in Kid Cudi's verse, and Kanye's addition the hook in the latter half "God, shine your light (love) on me. Save me please."

This album is phenomenal start to finish. Each song feels like a different musical style but every single song and style is executed well. I did not expect this to be anywhere near as great as it was and it will probably continue to be a favorite of mine for years to come.

Modern-day masterpiece, Kanye's impeccable production, mixed with his introspective bars along with Kid Cudi's melancholic vocals allow for one of the greatest hip-hop collabs to date. Other appearances from legends such as Pusha T and Mos Def secure this as possibly one of the greatest albums that will be created in our lifetime.

I haven't loved an album this much since Neon Golden by The Notwist. This album is truly perfect, with the wordplay being extremely solid, the beats aggressive yet eerie sound to it. The bipolarness of Kanye and Kid Cudi playing off each other is perfcet. This is truly the best album I've ever heard.

Kids See Ghosts brings out the best of Kid Cudi and Kanye West, both rappers flow seamlessly and compliment each other well. The project is a improvement from the previous solo efforts from both artists. Kanye is on an amazing run creatively this summer. Every release from "Daytona" to "ye" has been experimental and pushed boundaries. The production on here is once again absolutely superb.

This was incredible and absolutely blew me out of the water. The production is lush and layered and takes influence from rock, soul, psychedelia, and so much more to create an ethereal and vivid experience. One of Ye's purest, most Hip-hop efforts. Odd thing is, it takes a ton of influence from psych rock and prog. Fantano mentioned Madlib, but i don't think it's 100% accurate. They both bring out the best in each other. Given the artists past not just working with each other for the last decade, but just these last 2 years in their personal lives, for this to come together is a blessing. Kid Cudi ended 2016 in rehab for depression and suicidal urges, Kanye ended 2016 hospitalized after bizarre mental breakdowns caused by paranoia, depression, and drugs. They were seen together mid 2017 in Japan making a mystery project then again in early 2018 in Wyoming. Kids See Ghosts is the result of redemption and breaking through all these two have gone through. The narrative throughout on KSG is moving. Has a positive mood and is refreshing to hear especially at a time when it seems the whole nation is struggling with mental health.

"Feel The Love" starts it off with Cudi's soaring chorus, Pusha T comes in with a commanding verse, then Kanye comes outta no where with ad-libs sounding like gun shots reminiscent of Desiigner. The song feels like the harsh and chaotic parts (Pusha and Kanye) represent Cudi and Kanye's struggle in late 2016 feeling hopeless. Then Cudi's vocals are like the voice of hope with many fans and close friends supporting them even through the chaos. The album continues with this narrative as they become closer to finding hope and peace. Whether a higher power and/or psychedelics is the result of feeling Reborn and Freeee it's a beautiful story. I think psychedelics play a role in this very much as taking them feels like entering a "4th Dimension" and the very psychedelic rock influenced track, "Freeee." "Reborn" is the highlight of the album with an anthemic chorus. "Cudi Montage" is the spiritual closer and my personal favorite. The meaning of Kids See Ghosts (imo) is the loss of innocence you have when you grow up and become jaded. Kids see life through a very innocent and true lens. As Kanye mentions often how his child-like creativity feels like fight to keep as the harsh realities of the world force him to grow up. Much of his career is based on that. The dropout bear is him staying young and invincible. Claiming theres no such thing as the real world. After his fall from grace he has to grow up a bit, so the dropout bear is dead and MBDTF faces the realities of life.

10/10 perfect album to me, thank you Kanye and Kid Cudi!
