La Vita Nuova is a fine complement to the Chris era.

A rich, rewarding, and extremely direct return, one worth observing on its own terms.

Confined to merely six tracks, the ‘La vita nuova’ EP feels like it ends too soon - and that’s entirely symptomatic of how strong the songwriting is. In 2020, Christine is still truly in a league of her own.

Conceptually, ‘La Vita Nuova’ is an astonishing feat – but even better than that, it also oozes an intensity of feeling that punches right in the gut.

La vita nuova sounds like a collection of essentials for a soon-to-be prolific artist.

Her imagistic writing remains spare as ever, making a game of revealing concealed emotion by rendering it in multiple languages.

Throughout, the EP is marked by Letissier’s vocal and songwriting cool — even when the tempos are faster and the energy level is high, there’s a certain effortless ease to her singing and the music.

I love all tracks on the EP, specially la vita nouva with Caroline Polachek and disappear in tour hands. Her best work yet.

Extremely rich for such a short project. Chris is an artist who evolves which each new release and La Vita Nova is no exception. The videoExtremely rich for such a short project. Chris is an artist who evolves which each new release and La Vita Nova is no exception. The video project released alongside the EP displays Chris' willingness to experiment with form and boundaries, this is not simply a music video but a theatric and cinematic project. Full Review »
