This band is pretty much a Great Value brand The 1975, but with far less intensity, diversity and emotion. Their lyricism is awfully cringe worthy and sound like a teenager's diary.

LANY's self-titled album is truly one of a kind. It's lush beats and atmospheric synths are beautifully complemented with lyrics that represent so many stages of relationships. It's easy to say that the LA electro-indie band's debut album is one for the ages.

It's a boring splodge on the pop landscape, so relentlessly samey and entitled. [Aug 2017, p.106]

Bottling up teenage emotions and expressing it in effervescent electronica and wistful melodies, their self-titled debut is 16 tracks of minimalistic and clean compositions overridden with Paul Klein’s lovestruck lyrics.

LANY’s ambition is admirable—and this debut will sound great blasted at parties all summer long--but its pleasures end up feeling superficial and ephemeral.
