    Music industry. 18 tracks served here are a ride. We have the pleasant ‘Lover’, the self-reflective ‘Daylight’, the throwback anthemed ‘Paper Rings’. She discusses politics and blind patriotism in ‘Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Price’ in such a clever way, by incorporating Cheerleading elements.

Putting together her top 3 albums, she then gives us "Lover", her best album of her career. With many hymns that could be sung to the full of our lungs, such as "Cruel Summer", "Paper Rings" and "Miss Americana", the album differs greatly from lead single “ME!”, which could very well be replaced by “I Think He Knows”, a nice pop to hear. After all, Swift brings sad songs that only she can do. She opens and closes the album very well.

From the playful choruses and upbeat tempo of “Paper Rings” and “I Forgot That You Existed” to the complex lyricism, deep metaphor, and haunting production of the softer tracks like “Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince”, “Death by a Thousand Cuts”, and “Cornelia Street” to the fast tempo,Swift’s most versatile album to date showcases her wide range of musical talent in just 18 songs. From the playful choruses and upbeat tempo of “Paper Rings” and “I Forgot That You Existed” to the complex lyricism, deep metaphor, and haunting production of the softer tracks like “Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince”, “Death by a Thousand Cuts”, and “Cornelia Street” to the fast tempo, spectacular bridge, and “reputation”-esque production of “Cruel Summer”, we see what we expect from Swift, what we’ve always seen; a nice combination of “dancing around your room” tracks, “driving with the windows down” type songs, and, of course, those songs where that are so fun to listen to because each time you do, you find another aspect. Whether it’s the lyricism taking on another meaning or a slight detail in the backing track that you notice adds a whole new effect to a song, Swift is known for these little treats woven into the very fabric of anything she releases. However, it’s in some of the other tracks that we find what makes this particular collection of work so spectacular. For example, “False God”, a sultry, swooning piece with some of the most sensual lyricism Swift has ever put out, shocks with its combination of jazzy saxophone and electronically produced intrumentals. It’s unlike anything the 29-year-old has done yet and shows a far more mature side to the singer. Another track titled “London Boy” features a sampling of Idris Elba discussing his “scootah”, a rap-like beat, and the name-dropping of just about every notable place in London. Following up her 2017 tracks, “End Game” and “Ready For It”, a rapper Tay isn’t something completely out of the question, but with this song she manages to combine her singing and “rapping” smoothly which makes it feel much more light and fresh. Between the heartwrenching lyrical masterpiece that is “Soon You’ll Get Better”, the suggestive, snappy jam, “I Think He Knows”, the politically outspoken anthems, “You Need To Calm Down” and “The Man”, and the sadly underrated “It’s Nice To Have A Friend”, “Afterglow”, and “Daylight”, which are the literal musical version of golden glitter (I believe Taylor herself would very much appreciate this comparison), we see more diversity in an album than we have ever seen before. The title track, “Lover”, and the previously released, “The Archer” are some of the more lyrically complex on the album and, despite their early release, I’m still finding metaphors within them that I have yet to hear. Overall, Swift’s hyperattention to detail has absolutely paid off. From aesthetic to production to lyrics, just about every aspect of this album is carried out without flaw, For those who doubted her talent after the scorn of the poppy, “lets-all-have-fun” lead single, “ME!”, Swift has certainly earned a free “I told you so!” and she seems to be taking it. When asked about her haters in a CBS interview this Sunday, she responded, “When they stop coming at me, I’ll stop writing to them!” After stating she has no plans for the near future (aside from perhaps a tour and re-recording her masters), we are left to assume that for now, Taylor will spend time with her lover (pun very much intended), her family, and revel in her success, as it’s reported that this album has already sold more in the first few days of its release than any album has done in its first week all of 2019.… Expand

She ditched the dark "night-time" character she was channeling with "reputation",    Taylor Swift is back with her seventh album, "Lover", and in a lot of ways, it's so unrestrained and unfiltered that it feels like her most authentic work to date.
    The album runs at 18 tracks (the most track on any Swift album) and merges different styles and vibes, but still somehow feels very cohesive. She ditched the dark "night-time" character she was channeling with "reputation", stepped into the light and started celebrating her days, her friends, and well.. her lover. It is the first Taylor Swift album since 2012 that doesn't have Max Martin and Shellback on production duties, with Ms Swift opting for lighter and more organic productions (that still hit so hard) from the likes of long-term collaborator Jack Antonoff, and new collaborators such as Joel Little, Frank Dukes, and Sounwave. The lyricism feels so smart and effortless, as if Swift was putting into words everything she was thinking of, with storytelling, metaphors, and imagery merging into beautiful, catchy hooks.

    The record kicks off with the excellent 'I Forgot That You Existed' with cheeky lyrics such as 'In my feelings more than Drake' and references such as 'You got out some pop corn soon as my rep started going down, down down', but also with a life lesson we should all apply in our daily lives: 'it isn't love, it isn't hate, it's just indifference'. "Lover" then moves to excellent tracks such as the St. Vincent co-written 'Cruel Summer' which sounds like an instant hit with a super catchy chorus and some great singing on the verses, and 'I Think He Knows' which has a 80's retro-vibe and sounds like it could fit perfectly on a Carly Rae Jepsen album. The title track, which is the center of the record, is a sweet, tender love letter, an ode to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who is the subject of several other excellent tracks such as 'London Boy' and 'Cornelia Street'.

    The diversity goes on to show us Taylor going back to her country roots on 'Soon You'll Get Better', a tear-jerking track about her mom's battle with cancer, going jazzy on 'False God', detailing romantic love and sex, and going electropop on the experimental feminist-anthem 'The Man'. The two main highlights on the album though, are 'Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince' which has classic Taylor Swift storytelling that could have a double entander, and 'Afterglow' is a gorgeous piece of art a song, having a chorus that goes for miles unforgotten.

    The only song I'd go far to label as a "filler" comes towards the end: 'It's Nice to Have a Friend'. It is a cute little song, almost sounding like an interlude, however an interlude that makes no sense and has no place in the context of the album.

    "Lover" is a celebration of love in all its forms, and it's the first album Taylor Swift has owned, and indeed it sounds like it's all hers, at her freest.    … Expand

But it’s not just her relationship with Joe that she discusses – Swift mentions how this album is a “love letter to love itself”. From discussing the topic of parental love and heartbreak over a parent’s experience with cancer (‘Track 12: Soon You’ll Get Better’), to calling out the lack of love and support Swift, and all the women out there, receive because of their gender (‘Track 4: The Man’), to even criticizing all that has been engendered by Trump’s America, albeit via a metaphor of a high school (‘Track 7: Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince’), Swift has once again proven why she is The Pop Queen and is a force to be reckoned with.     Lover is a beautiful record. It’s makes those who are in love fall harder and deeper and those who lone for it wish more hopefully and romantically. Every track is a journey through loving and all its particular components. Just amazing, just awesome.

    Lover is such an experimental album. Once again Ms.Swift prove us her power, her mind, and her life. Although her capacity of selling out stadium tours, she still an underrated artists. She is an artists, not just a singer. The album sticks to his concept about true love.

    O lover é um álbum excepcional, com letras marcantes e sonoridade diferentes de tudo que a swift fez , com certeza é o melhor álbum pop do ano e o melhor todos os gêneros lançados esse ano , um belo trabalho .
