Jul 26, 2014After years of playing great music Anberlin has finally decided that it is time to move on. Although not as popular as their album dubbed Cities; Lowborn is a strong final record. I thoroughly enjoyed Lowborn, especially Atonement which contains a lot of emotion.

Alternative PressJul 22, 2014As it stands, Lowborn isn't as good as Vital, but it still does an admirable job at continuing Anberlin's sonic expression. [Jul 2014, p.95]

Jul 22, 2014Lowborn is a fairly strong record on a song-for-song basis, and the added emotional heft of it being a swansong helps to elevate it above the weaker entries in the band’s catalog--even despite its numerous issues.

Jul 22, 2014If there is a heaviness--an emotional weight that seems to be bearing down upon Christian and Anberlin throughout Lowborn--chalk it up to a band nearing the end of an almost 15-year career. However, despite this heaviness, Anberlin have crafted an album of deeply emotive and, one imagines for longtime fans, cathartic songs.
