Uma excelente estreia. Agora entendo o que Zayn quis dizer com "esse álbum estava preso em minha cabeça há 10 anos". I came to his music because Pillowtalk and even if it's a lot different from what i expected at first i have to say it's mavellous. This is the kind of album to listen with the lights off, very intimate. He's without a doubt a promise of the music.

Solid debut album from someone who clearly had a lot to say and hadn't been able to truly express himself in his previous gig as part of One Direction. The album feels like a peek into Zayn's mind, as the title suggests, and a glimpse into the emotions he felt as he struggled with life and love and fame. Mind of Mine is melancholic in many places, but also hopeful at times. Mind of Mine is melancholic in many places, but also hopeful at times. The album has many layers and the more I listen, then more I feel like I discover bits and pieces of who Zayn is. It truly deserves multiple plays before you decide if you like it or not because it's such a long, multifaceted album. It feels like one is taking a journey with Zayn as you listen to it from start to finish. And the production is great. Malay Ho is truly one of the greats.

Zayn's voice is angelic on tracks like It's You and Intermission: Flower. The urdu on Flower is particularly haunting and beautiful. Stand out tracks for me are Befour (probably one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time), Drunk (a summer anthem if I've ever heard one), Rear View (a tragically honest song about going through hard times and trying not to look back), and Lucozade (a crazy spit fire track that was recorded in one take).

If you like darker Pop/R&B you will definitely enjoy this album. Even if that's not your type of music, everyone can appreciate Zayn's vocal ability. His falsettos in particularly truly shine throughout the album. Definitely one of the top male vocalists around right now.

"Zayn Malik has finally shown the world what he can do, and we ought to be glad that he did. This album is a surefire way to get in the mood, but also catchy enough for just chilling and "blazing on that new found haze" like Zayn does in the song "lUcOzAdE." "Mind of Mine" successfully showcases Malik's shining talent and recognizes the sweet and sensual aspect of R&B.

After one year of its release MoM is still a banger when played in my car. You can feel his blood, sweat, and tears in this album...the frustration of getting his voice out there when in 1D, yeah he was there, but was heavily muted (e.g. backup vocals). Here he shows his strengths in this album, but in return (that is outside from the album) we also saw his vulnerability. It's a shame that his anxiety crippled him to perform in public, but when he does, I'm sure it music to the audiences' ears. My daughter introduced me to 1D and Zayn was my instant favorite because of the soulful voice he exuded when he sang for/with the group. In my opinion, he put a glue to that group (and that became apparent when he left and the group released Made in the AM). That said, my fave song in the album is Rear View, followed by Take it Off (TiO), and Like I would...just smooth in every way for me. His voice reaches into my soul, something that's been lacking in music lately. I hope for the best for Zayn, looking forward to hear what else he wants to release to the world. Expand

His vocals are really nice to listen to and one year later, I am still listening to his whole album on a regular basis. I was not a fan of One Direction, quite the opposite, but even then I was fascinated by Zayn. I really liked his "Let me love you" by Mario cover, his vocals were really nice even back then. After he left I kept my eyes on him because I wanted to see what kind of music he would release. Well the wait got paid off real good, and he even improved alot to the better. I am very happy that my image of him indeed has proven to be true. He can definitely count on me when he tours or releases a new album, i am all on his side. I took my time to write this review because I saw a few people saying the album is all about sex, whereas 7 out of 18 tracks at most may include sex in a relationship, which is again real may I add. Befour was the song that pulled me in and none of the rest disappointed in any way. Some of them took a while to stick, like Blue and Lucozade, but the one take no-repeated chorus style gets in your head and you can feel the frustration the singer's trying to articulate through music. Rear View switches the mood to a sad but not hopeless self examination. TiO and Wrong are sexy but not trying to notch up numbers at the expense of their partner, the participants are enthusiastic and enjoying their sexy, uncensored indiscretions together. Some of it borders on a smooth melancholy without ever getting bogged down in self pity. So like I do with any top 10 song, I listened to it and moved on. However one day while I was going through some instagram posts I came across a snippet of Zayn's song "Golden". The meaning of the lyrics and his voice was so beautiful that it convinced me to give his album a try. The album was truly a masterpiece. My favorites are "pillowtalk, golden, befour, she, drunk, rear view, tio" and the only feature on the album "wrong". Songs like "fool for you, borderz, blue, truth, lucozade and she don't love me" are works of art on their own right. "Like I would" is a bop while "bright" was an unexpected surprise of the good kind. The ballad "It's you" is so beautiful and to this day I don't know how it's possible for a man to hit the notes in that song. Even after I've seen him do it live. The song "flower" which he sang in order to honor his heritage was truly a novel experience. Specially to see something of asian culture being created by a man who grew up in the western culture. And last but not least the intro "mind of mindd". Lots of people don't pay attention to it since it's a simple verse. But there's a power in it that I can't put into words. And I was at first very skeptical because he was in the former One Direction band, whose music I found to be very dull and slightly childish.

After having listened to It's You and Lucozade, I saw a lot of depth in his voice. The tone of his voice struck me and gave me goosebumps all over. It was like immaculate conception. The high notes in the music were surprisingly beautiful and mysterious - being a huge rock fan - it reminded me of something only a Freddie Mercury could achieve. I didn't expect this from a former 1D member. I really didn't.

The iconic Pillowtalk of course is what stood out to me. The style was very unique and it was a splendid job by the artist. Like I Would had me immediately 'bopping' my head as some youngsters like to say these days.

Overall, I have been left speechless by how good this album is. And want to know if Zayn will be releasing more music in the near future. If so, I very much look forward to it and hope to see an evolution because he has enormous potential.

I'm surprised because usually I don't like listening to albums entirely because i'm always disapointed by most of the song, except the lead songs. But here ... I can appreciate his voice but also the quality of the songs. Really impressive for a debut, great job. Look forward for the next one !

Great album, his vocal ability is amazing and the songs are wonderful. If you have listened to one direction's albums you can tell that they didn't let him have any freedom there. You can totally see his personality through this album now that he is able to sing anything he wants to. I'm excited to see him growing as an artist.

Yes, he also does that quite well. This album is someone discovering themselves and what they're capable of doing. It's beautiful. The lyrics are really good. I love how he uses metaphors so frequently, and even tho, it might seem confusing at times there's always a story there. This album has so many layers, it's such a delight. I've been listening to this album for months and I find new things about it every time I listen to it. It ages like fine wine. Also, it's beautiful how he included an urdu song as an ode to his roots. This is why Zayn is so different from any of his peers. And this is why he has a place in the industry. It's a standout and shows that Zayn isn't afraid to be different and go against the norm. This album is definitely worth checking out. It should also be noted that Zayns debut single PillowTalk debuted at #1 on both the US and UK charts. A feat that only 11 other artist before him have done, such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Beyoncé, Adele and Ed Sheeran. Another thing that i like about this album, it has influenced of Zayn's Pakistani culture, it's shown by the way he sang most of the songs. He also sang a song in Urdu, 'Intermission: Flower'
There's also classical influenced in 'Blue', and heartbreaking ballads like 'It's You' and 'Fool For You'.

His vocal range is astounding. Favorite songs are Truth, Flower, It's You and Blue. It's an album with longevity, I still listen to it frequently and can see myself still listening to it in 10 years. Only weakness: some of his lyrics about sex; I think his introspective lyrics, about his feelings are better and more relatable. Not a fan of Fool For You and Like I Would but love all the other songs. Can't wait for his 2nd album. He's very talented. Expand

A solid debut album. Was never a One Direction fan but this album made me into a Zayn fan. Fantastic production and vocals. Lyrics can improve a bit but nevertheless, an impressive debut album.

Es un disco maravilloso y emocional. Se puede sentir todos los sentimientos que Zayn ha puesto en este disco y reflejarte en ellos. 100% recomendable.

Overall, Mind of Mine is a very impressive album. There are a few songs which I'm not really into, but for the length of the album that's not really surprising. Zayn delivered many great songs, such as Wrong and Borderz

a great album! maybe the lyrics are not the great thing (generally are sex songs) but the production in the album is really great, ZAYN and his team did this so carefully!

[ENGLISH] I like some songs like "fOol fOr YoU", "dRuNk", "BeFoUr". Anyway, I think this album is better than One Direction's last album.

[ESPAÑOL] Me gustan algunas canciones como "fOol fOr YoU", "dRuNk", "BeFoUr". De todos modos, creo que este álbum es mejor que el último de One Direction.

This album is so uniquely lyrical and so rich in production. He has shown a lot of growth from his departure from One Direction and it was worth. This album includes some songs I suggest listening to first such as wrong, befour and drunk.

To be honest ZAYN was better of with One Direction! His solo career will NOT last too long. These type of songs does not suit him. He has a good voice but he is definitely misusing it! His music videos are very boring and so is his album! He even just got luck with Pillowtalk! Through out the entire album he is talking about sex. The album debut of Zayn Malik is truly amazing. When I finished listening to the album I completely forgot that he was in 1D. This album has sounds unusual but certainly these are a treat for the brain. This is one of the best albums this year. My congratulations to Mr. Malik.

There is no doubt that Zayn has done something different with this album. Even starting with the way his tracklist is written. You can say that it's childish, but that's how he wanted to express himself and for someone that's been in a cage for five years that is more than okay! I had a lot of high expectations for this album and when i first listened to it, I must say he's outdone himself. This album, in my personal opinion, is one of the best that has been released so far this year! The beats are really amazing work. Zayn has done well choosing Malay Ho, MYKL and the mysterious xyz as his producers. It all comes together very nicely on this record. If you listen closely and know a little bit of Zayn and his story, the lyrics are really deep too and show a lot of him and his story. Every song is very unique and special in its own way and in my opinion, there is not one bad song on there. His vocal abilities are also getting displayed very nicely. Yes, that boy can really sing. He is really a talented boy, there's no doubt about that. Expand

This is an exceptional album that not many would have seen coming from Zayn Malik. Any 1D fans that were expecting the commercial pop tracks they would typically receive from the band when Zayn was a member would be majorly disappointed by this album. Therefore, Zayn leaving 1D was a huge risk, but clearly a necessary move he had to make since he had his own talent to offer. A nice attempt by Zayn. The album is boring but it has certain gems of its own. "iT's YoU", "sHe" and "PILLOWTALK" are my favouite. When I hear "fLoWer", there comes a feeling as if Zayn Malik is chanting it on a Shikara in Kashmir.

His vocal skills help pave over the (rare) moments when the lyrics seem a bit juvenile or the sound feels a little too familiar, and help make Mind of Mine an impressive debut. It's music he couldn't have made with One Direction and while it may not be breaking any new ground, it's new for him and he's talented enough to make that interesting for anyone who likes well-made pop music.

Mind of Mine leaps right over anything on Justified and carves a path of its own. Next decade’s boybands will doubtless provoke discussion on which of them will break out like this, which one will be a Zayn.

Throughout this album, Mr. Malik opts for a low-octane approach, with varying success.
