    Her latest musical effort, More Issues Than Vogue is proudly campy (that cover art) and deeply poignant.

    Michelle’s travails are told with a rounded humanity. Drakeian ennui, smooth dance-pop and Outkast-sampling southern hip-hop back them up, but it’s the diamond R&B balladry such as Time and All I Got that really shines.

    Even the weaker moments are elevated by a raw vocal that growls with bubbling emotion. Love’s trials and tribulations never sounded so exquisite.
