Packed with peace, love and jangly guitars, Diane Coffee’s debut LP, My Friend Fish, is an irresistible ode to ’60s psychedelia.

At its best it’s like sifting through a treasure trove of half-remembered gems, the chief reference points all coming from the colourful side of the ’60s.

    A superb solo effort. [Dec 2013, p.105]

My Friend Fish proves its geniality, as Fleming’s vocals and personality go well with just about everything.

It's a bit Lenny Kravitz at times, but the excellence and ear-popping sound see Coffee through. [Jan 2014, p.72]

My Friend Fish is a really promising debut and a nice jolt of weirdo pop that should tides fans over until the next Foxygen album comes out.
  7. Dec 11, 2013

My Friend Fish has moments that are more about sound than about song, something which take the focus away from Fleming’s commanding presence. But there’s still a lot to like here, especially when the songs become more than just genre exercises and form their own fresh sense of purpose.
