This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Apart from the killer opener, All your Exes , i found the album generally uninteresting. Not necessarily because anything is horrible. Most of the songs are there but there is nothing unique about them. Julia is well known as a great songwriter and the songs are generally well written especially All Your Exes, Little did i Know, Orange Magic and Undertone. But i found much of the production to lack any uniqueness. There are still some great songs on the album though and its very short as well, i recommend it Expand

Julia Michaels, as usual, captivates the audience with her beautiful lyrics and unique voice

Idk how to feel about this album, Julia is a great songwriter and singer but this just sounds a little to mediocre, i feel she could do a lot more, it's just super basic

Very good album! I love the way she’s able to put her feelings into words. Would love to hear more songs like All Your Exes.

I love how this album gave me all the vibes I needed the first time listening to each track on it. This album for me is favorite, I felt the lyrics genuinely touched my heart and also managed to surprise me on its structure. "Orange Magic" and "Little Did I Know" were my favorites! Julia Michaels deserves recognition and much more attention for this album.

Michaels gives you the sense that she's writing from experience and transforming her emotions into cathartic pop anthems. It doesn't hurt that she also has a warm, expressive voice, marked by a dusting of vocal fry that can make her sound vulnerable and sweet one minute and wickedly intimidating the next.

It’s a perfectly enjoyable debut and a showcase for Michaels’ talent, but it doesn’t sound like the debut of an undeniable star.

At times soft, at other times thick with sinew, 'Not In Chronological Order' allows Julia Michaels to parade her immense talent as a songwriter, as well as her charismatic, oh-so-expressive voice.
