BillyKMar 7, 2007It's not the mini-pop masterpiece that is "I Sold Gold", but it's not trying to be. It's a broadening of his sound, and as a whole, it goes over splendidly. Not a dissapointment. The first four tracks are among the best he's ever done, and "As You Wish" has been stuck in my head for two months.

JasonLMay 6, 2007I'm not sure if I can top the last review, but found this to be a great album. He stretched out into new directions and appreciated that he didn't try to remake I Sold Gold. You gotta see them play live. It adds another dimension that they have yet to capture on their albums.

JamesVMar 2, 2007This album grows better upon repeat listening. Great use of synths, vocal phrasings. This LP along with Midlake and Silversun Pickups are my favorites right now. Already have my tickets to see Aqueduct in Tulsa

Or Give Me Death is fun yet serious, cheerful yet depressing, simple yet intricate.

Imagine the Long Winters if they were far more in love with the synth and guitar textures of the '80s than the precious pop sounds of the '70s and you'd have this, a hard to pigeonhole album which greatly rewards multiple listens.
