This is the best album Sum 41 has ever put out. The lyrical content is great and the heavy guitar riffs are amazing. In my opinion it is the best version of Sum 41 that existsts. If you are a punk rock and metal fan you need to listen to this!

The hardest hitting Sum 41 record to date. In my opinion their best album. Plenty of heavy riffs and perfect drumming. Vocals on point. Some really personal tracks also. Writing and musicianship is the best I've heard from Sum 41. Best album of the year for me.

This album produces a reinvigorated, sharper sounding Sum 41 than we have heard in the recent past. This work speaks to the same rebellious teen spirit which first brought us to listen to Sum 41, but with a modern twist.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sum 41 has grown up from the punk-rock inspired outfit they used to don. Though, I think it's safe to say that they have been wearing the newer hard rock title since Screaming Bloody Murder. And honestly, this is probably the most excited I have been since the release of that album. 13 Voices really fell short for me as a fan of both the old and new styles of Sum 41. Solid single releases leading up to the album definitely helped drive the hype for me and I stayed for the diverse and mostly hard rocking anthems that they have created on this new album. Front man Whibley is credited with the engineering of this album and I have to say that he did a great job bringing out the best in every member of the band. You can hear the distinctive nuances of the guitars and his voice all behind a heavy thumping drummer and a monster bass presence. The opening track sets the tone of the album. Sum 41 comes out holding nothing back and putting it all out there. We slow down slightly about half way in with Never There; a wonderfuly soft tune that I haven't been able to stop singing along to since the single released. Even though the song has a soft tone, you can still make out the intensity in Whibley's voice throughout. We pick up the pace right after and get back on course. Eventually we hit the fast paced The People Vs... bringing back some of Sum 41's punk-inspired fast paced drumming and tempo while still staying absolutely within the range of the album. The album takes it back down a notch to finish out the rollercoaster experience we just went through. Though in my opinion, I would have preferred to go out swinging with a heavy tune instead of a softer one. Still that little hiccup aside, Sum 41 have gone to show that the punk-rock band from Canada is able to adapt to the times and still keep relevant releasing great music. Well done! Expand

Most similar to 13 voices compared to the rest of their discography, but ups the intensity for the most part and manages to feel fresh as a long time sum 41 fan.

Felt like this album brought me back in time, great stuff from blink 182, I felt the faster paced tracks were a bit more fun.

I personally feel this is a much better album then the last. It shows a lot more variety between tracks and a lot more emotion. A couple of vocal melodies that sound a lot like other tracks from the past, but the guys have been in the game for a long time. So Far I think it's my favorite album of 2019 so far.

"Decline" is absolutely a return to form for Sum 41. Whibley finally stops trying to over produce each song and sticks to what he does best, which is writing catchy hooks, which are accompanied by amazing guitar work, pumping drums and all around fun. While lyrically, there will be moments that sound a little too much like older Sum 41 songs, and maybe a borrowed melody here or there, it's"Decline" is absolutely a return to form for Sum 41. There's nothing here we haven't heard done better somewhere else. Sum 41 can and have done better.

There’s no delusion going on that Sum 41 have reinvigorated pop-punk, but Order In Decline certainly qualifies as a pleasant surprise. ... They’ve proven that there’s still something left in the tank.

Clocking in at just over 35 minutes (not including two bonus acoustic tracks), Order in Decline mercifully sheds the filler that bogged down the band’s previous releases. Ten amped-up tracks provide just the right amount of time to savor but not tire of its focused intensity. ... The album’s pitch-perfect production and riotous bombast make for a hell of a fun ride.
