Besides knowing how to pick an evocative voice to work with, Delerium ably mutes big, often funky bass lines with easy flowing beats while adding mood-altering touches.
  2. If you think too hard about a record like this, you'll probably be ashamed to own it. Let's be honest: despite its Eastern rhythms, intricate melodies and exotic instrumentation, it's basically a yuppie sex record.

Likely the exposure to these are rare and as such unrecognizable. So it stands to reason that we find these reviews. When friends are asking for something different and inspirational I always mention the various works of Bill and Rhys and friends. With Poem being my top recommendation. There is some beautiful music on this recording. Great guitar arrangements. Wonderful vocal work, strings and as always; keyboards. Might I suggest to some of the critics put down your smart phone, put on your best headphones and be taken away. If you can relax long enough. Full Review »

It's not for everyone, and that's most likely why it got mediocre reviews. songs like Poem for Byzantium, Aria, and Underwater are what really make the album shine. This is always one of the most listened albums I own, and I'm glad that I didn't shun it based off my first impressions when I started with their album Chimera. Well done, and great for it's own unique genre. Full Review »
