Tennis builds upon what they already have, a steady and sinkproof ship of music making. This new album is nothing short of amazing. The track glorietta blew my mind!

Given how different the singles sounded, I was hoping for a little more variety in terms of the sound. That said, the band’s production has never sounded better in my opinion, with some fantastic basslines and Alaina’s consistently great vocals. Lyrically, it feels like we’re watching a long-in-love couple rekindle that young and fun passion, which is really sweet.

Ultimately, Pollen keeps one foot planted in Tennis’ signature style and the other in a more innovative future, serving as a reminder of the untapped potential Tennis still has when it fully commits to bolder sonic diversification.

Songs like "Let's Make A Mistake Tonight" and the restless "Forbidden Doors" vividly capture intimate moments in a shared existence. [Apr 2023, p.36]

Against the stately hush of Moore’s voice, Riley’s bass thunks satisfyingly, and their songs groove harder than ever. Warbled and muffled pianos contrast with acoustic guitars, and a few zany synth choices set Moore up to knock out some vocal delights.
