    Ariana shows she not only excels in the pop scene, but also in R&B inspired music as well. Anyone who says this is a mediocre album obviously doesn’t appreciate anything outside of pop. Ariana Grande once again proves she is one of the best artists out here, with or without critic approval.

    Ariana Grande’s 6th Full Studio Album, Positions, is her most mature body of work, saturated with R&B inspired tracks all around, adding lots of flavor to this album. No skip album that came from this beautiful and talented woman Ariana Grande.

    It is so satisfying seeing albums like this, where the artist seems free and open about certain life experiences and the real reality. Although I love her older albums with many upbeat pop tracks, I can tell this is something she has always wanted to make in her career. This style and flow fits her like a glove and with that amazing soothing voice she has. I love the way she adds harmonies to all of her songs, it always just fits and sounds so right.

    This is her most honest and real album to date, and I can really tell that she worked hard on the production, lyrics and overall sounds. The lyrics are bittersweet. I am happy for her and hoping she is receiving a lot of happiness right now.

    No skip album, amazing and refreshing sounds all around. She really is the pop queen! Please go check out her new album ‘Positions’ because she really gave it her all and never disappoints!

    As for tracks, the amazing 34+35 track, along with just like magic, motive with the amazing Doja Cat, and safety net with Ty Dolla $ign are all so amazing. Ariana’s voice fits so well with all of these features on the album, and the amazing The Weeknd with another feature of theirs which was so elegant. They always come through with the best of the best!

    Proud of Ariana! This album was all around so cohesive and raw, and I was glad to see the different type of music she is able to create. Such a talented individual with so much potential. My personal favorite from her.    … Expand

She made a album about love and sex and she has every damn right to after all she’s been through. If i could Score this album higher than 10, I’d give it a 100 and if i could score this album higher than 100...well you get the point.… Expand

    the album is quite a departure from its main usual pop moments, it is much more refreshing, Positions has more of a connective feel than much of their previous work. personally beats thank u next, After all, Grande has always been an album artist, and this is another great album, give it up for this great album

    the entire album is about reflection, healing, growth, confidence & love. the songs slap, collabs are immaculate, vocals are exquisite, lyrics tantalizing, whistle tones & registers are breathtaking, the aesthetic is gorgeous & the messages are illuminating. R&B is her genre. Her voice is angelic on every track. If you hate positions you’re absolutely tasteless.

    I really like the album and I feel like everyone who hates the album are those fans who don't really care about her as a person but her success and fame, which is unfortunate. The album sounds great and is for me personally versatile. I've been an arianator for a while now and to see her continuing with her own story after everything that she has been through is amazing. Most people believe on the surface that the album is all about sex, and while on same tracks that’s the case, in others they lyrics go way beyond that. Ariana has proved time and time again that she is one of the vocalists of our generation and she has done it again. While this album doesn’t rely heavily on belts like her previous works, it’s focuses more in lows and whistles, parts of her range we don’t get to hear as much. You can hear Ariana tastefully sneak whistles in almost every track, nothing is too show off-y. My personal highlight on the album is the closing track “pov”. Ariana and her team created a beautiful meaningful ballad, you could tell every word Grande was saying came from the heart. One thing Ariana always does in her music, is she reminds us that she is human. Her vulnerability on all these tracks makes us feel more connected to her than ever. All in all this is a phenomenal record that everyone should check out!… Expand

    This is my first time listening to a full Ariana Grande album and I can confirm that this is one of the best things I've ever heard, the lyrical content, the production, her voice, everything is on point and perfectly executed, this is my favorite album from this year

    This Album is being rated as a pop album when it’s clearly R&B/soul. Of course it’s going to be slower paced. It’s a great project and Ariana’s best. Her vocal ability has improved and her production is improving.

    Ariana constantly reinvents herself and this album showcases immense artistic growth. The album is cohesive but still every song is unique. The collaborations are phenomenal. Ariana vocals are stunning on this album and hits whistles like they’re nothing. Positions is undoubtedly one of her best works to date.

    Such a good album! I really liked what she did here, all the collabs are on point. The classical instruments make those song 100x better! The vocal production and the instrumentals are from heaven. No doubt about that.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First, it is disappointing to see Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift fans abusing the user rating function here. I can’t imagine why they might spend their time trying to pull Ariana down considering she is a totally different type of artist: an A-level vocalist who is expanding her repertoire as an engineer, producer, and yes, writer. But it’s still her voice that gets me every time. Positions shows more growth here than even Sweetener did - at times she is low, lush, smooth as silk. And when she goes high, she reaches the clouds. The phrasing she does in her whistle register during My Hair is *A Moment* in mainstream music history, period. The harmonies throughout, produced and arranged by herself, are at varying times ambient, resonant, and ethereal.

    As far as collabs, I think Safety Net with Ty Dolla wins out, and I say that as a massive fan of the Weeknd (their track, Off the Table, is still in my top five). I also love the bouncy Six Thirty and the chilled-out yet sparkly vibe of Just Like Magic. Of course, POV is very special to any fan who knows what Ariana has been up against, as well as anyone who loves a pop diva vocal ballad. Spectacular, moving, would love more of that.

    I feel like this is the music Ariana always wanted to make. That’s actually pretty evident when you compare this work to some choices she made on Yours Truly. If she’s done kissing up to a pure pop audience, I’m happy for her, and I think she is, too.    … Expand

    It's an incredible album, the lyrics are great. I would venture to say that it is the best since this year. Ariana is to be congratulated, as always.

    It's incredible the sonic maturity that Ariana has achieved. Each track is unique and surprising. Ariana could have taken advantage of her hype and released another pop album, focused on charts. But instead, she launched something truly from the heart.

    Grande is making no effort to be discreet, instead explicitly owning her sexuality—the album is called Positions, after all. The juxtaposition of beautiful violin sounds and risqué lyrics has become one of Grande’s signature sounds, and it suits her well.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
