Can reinventing and regenerating oneself start from the music of years past? surely third full-length release 'Redcar les adorables étoiles' becomes a complex web of sound, at times over-elaborated, so much so that they bump into each other too much. Lyrics with character and clear to read.

Not in agreement with some of the other reviews which say this is weaker material than it's predecessors. This album intreques and beguiles. In many ways it reminds me of some of my favourite Cocteau Twins moments. The production allowing the vocals to bleed into the music to create rich textures. There are still enough melodies and pop beats here to make this a pop record but it won't tire.

Such an interesting project, brimming with passion. Serving as the Prologue to an extended project, Redcar is our introduction to a new era of Christine and the Queens. I think that Christine and the Queens is truly one of the most exciting and underrated artists of our time. Expand

Letissier is a fascinating and riveting performer, but this passion project feels unfocused and undercooked. [Mar 2023, p.26]

A frustrating listen from a brilliantly talented artist. For all of its angels and prophecies and mid-century decadence, what we are left with is a very quiet collection of songs with all the weight of ephemera.

An easy record to enjoy, but a difficult one to fully evaluate, it presents an artist pursuing vital sense of personal and aesthetic freedom.
