Dawn's Auto-Tuned vocals push it into Major Lazer territory. Yet the best moments are where restraint wins out. [Jan 2017, p.102]

Many of these songs begin promisingly before losing momentum and settling into turgid grooves. Rather than serving as a platform for D∆WN and Machinedrum to hybridize and expand the pop form, Redemption offers ornate, glittering garments, which constrict as they envelop.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. after the absolutely brilliant Goldenheart and the occasionally lethargic yet beautiful Blackheart, Dawn brings us her fiercest effort yet. with the dancefloor sensibilities of her Armor On EP, the lush and complex instrumentations of Goldenheart, and the depth of Blackheart, Redemption is a complete winner. this year's Infrared EP was just a taste of what was to come in this fantastical closer of this trilogy. favorites for me are: the unbelievably funky psych-art pop masterwork which is LA (which includes the most triumphant by Trombone Shorty), the Prince referencing art rock heavy jam Hey Nikki, and the powerful house track Love Under Lights (which continues where Gleaux left off!!!!!)
I highly recommend this album to everyone
