Revival is a good album, and I dont intend to imply that some of the slower tunes or more laid-back lyrics are simple throwaways, its just that this is definitely a change of direction for a band that has followed a relatively clear path for such a long time.

If you're looking for some red-hot rockabilly, the Rev is still your man, but Revival shows off some unexpected sides of his personality, and the changeup makes for some refreshing listening.

It's a stronger album that those from Heat's Interscope period, and while songs like "Party Mad" and "If It Ain't Got Rhythm" no longer sound new, they do have their own rewards.
