if MY WHOLE LIFE is perfume's, according to himself, best song he ever wrote, well i think i have disconnected with the guy along the way. elderness is a terrible thing. no more underground rebel idgaf attitude. the new material is childish, obedient and critics favourite. that last one, alone talks for itself the best, about how safe is what you're going to listen.
    i still love the guy,

i still love the guy, but i don't like his boyfriend. it looks like he keeps Mike away from them sharp edges of life's tragedy. so that art can please, at large and wide, today.

The record's second half feels a little dreary after the spectacular opening, but the combination of doleful beauty and violent emotion that makes Hadreas's work extraordinary is never hard to find. [Summer 2020, p.104]

His ability to purge himself on every track is contagious. You don't have to go there with him to enjoy this album, but don't be surprised if you do.

Set My Heart on Fire Immediately isn’t a perfect album. There are a couple of wormholes that Hadreas gets lost down and the sequencing causes a slightly jilted second half, but once these songs nestle in, they’re impossible to shift.
