    This album is a really weird one.
    First, it includes singles that were released almost or more than a year ago. For me that is Lack of creativity for making new songs. Next, 12 songs for an “iconic” album, really? 12 songs is nothing and only 8 are really new songs, I really think that is, besides lack of creativity, also lack of interest for achieving an award or returning something to    This album is a really weird one.

    Painfully the same Katy we’ve seen for years, with similar sounding beats and overproduction. There are some okay tracks on here, but not enough to fully save it. We can’t easily give her good reviews just because she’s Katy Perry. This album has to at least live up to its predecessor’s, to which it does not.

    this was katy going back to her roots but tripped on the way there. it’s like an unbalanced combination of everything right with teenage dream and everything wrong with witness. she’s clearly trying to make radio hits again but butchered the quality on the process.

    ¡Triste pero real! Katy Perry de verdad entró en el flop. No podia creerlo hasta que escuche este disco. En letras (como casi siempre) se denota mucho poder, su voz en algunas canciones como What Makes a Woman es en verdad muy suave y agradable al oído, pero es la única canción del disco junto a Only Love que pude escuchar hasta el final sin aburrirme. Un álbum que obviamente recuerda a la¡Triste pero real! Katy Perry de verdad entró en el flop. No podia creerlo hasta que escuche este disco.     É constrangedor que uma mulher de 35 anos lance um álbum totalmente sem coesão e imaturo como esse. É, literalmente, constrangedor escutar isso que, supostamente, eram para ser músicas.

    Espero que ela consiga encontrar a sua verdadeira vocação sendo mãe, pois como cantora não tem mais salvação.

    This album was a disappointment. I didn't have high hopes for Katy and her music, but I did think it would be better than this. She has the budget for the best writers and producers in the world but this album still sounds dated, clunky, and tacky. Hopefully the next one is better but after this and Witness, I doubt the quality of Katy's music is on anything but a downward spiraling trajectory.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
