She's coming back with the best album of the 2020! I'm shocked that Katy Perry still delivers us really GOOD music even the singer gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Daisy Bloom this month, I can fell the power she gives to the album, the title is called SMILE and succesfully make me SMILE in this pandemic, thank you for your hard work, I'm proud of you, Katy Perry!

Pop perfection. She did that. No skips and made me smile. She doesn’t deserve all the hate she’s getting from stupid critics from the big rats, and highlighting NME (a fad)

Smile is the natural progression that Katy Perry had to make after her 2017's Witness. If so, Katy deserves a commendable nod for crafting an album that's badly needed especially right now. Expand

There’s no a bad song in this album, I think this is a point to say the album is one of the most successful projects that Katy Perry has made.

This is easily katy's best album, there are 0 skips bc i this kind of katy perry really is my style of music. I LOVED the fact that she had some darker songs on here (CAIL, NTEOTW) and she tries a lot of different genres on this album, so even if you're not a katy perry fan there's probably still a song in here you will like. I only have 1 problem with this album and that is that the album is really short, i wished it was a little bit longer. And lastly, these critics are saying that it sounds too much like teenage dream or something which is NOT TRUE. It actually doesn't sound like it AT ALL, so that proves once again u can't trust critics. Period. Expand

SMILE is the most cohesive Katy Perry album ever! Every song seems to fit perfectly in the storyline intelligently created by Perry. It’s a cultural reset on pop music. Honestly one of her best albums so far. The lyrics are captivating and deep: Katy talks about her worst period, while she dances and laughs. That’s exactly what I expected from her. There are some unforgettable songs like Cry About It Later, Never Really Over and Not The End Of The World. There’s only one song that I don’t like: Resilient. i really don’t understand why some people judge music off of reviews written by a bunch of middle aged white people that know nothing about the artist or the music, critical acclaim doesn’t equal success, impact or how good smile is.

Smile is about the journey of the last 2 years of the singer, each song represents a stage of the difficult moment in which the artist lived after the release of her album Witness. The melodies and the production is what the industry has been consuming at the moment and the lyrics deal with current issues. The album brings out the best in Katy Perry. Enjoy it and SMILE

Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
