    I loved/really like Brutal, Traitor, Jealousy Jealousy, Good For You, & Drivers License but the rest all sound so similar. It needed a few more bangers to add some life to the tracklist. Especially since all of them are towards the front half.

The lyrics in this album are very personal, and Olivia's voice captures every bit of the emotional atmosphere of 'SOUR'. Even if the sound may seem generic and resemblant (Taylor Swift's 'Lover' is the closest comparison, in myThis is a debut that the world needed.     One of the greatest debuts I've ever seen! She is a star. Her compositions are literally poems to my ears, she really doesn't look like a 17/18 year old girl, she brings melancholy that's sounds incredible, storytelling and extremely good composition. She is very talented for a new artist. She deserves every stream and popularity she gets. Olivia truly speechless

    Olivia Rodrigo debut Album, “SOUR” is a great addition to 2020s music, but in many songs she lacks depth and originality, however, in songs like “favorite crime” and “hope ur ok” Olivia gave us that. The album production is really good in my opinion, but nothing extraordinary. For a debut album it is really surprising.

    One of the best debut albums ever! The pain this album can cause, you can feel the emotions from Olivia through her vocal ability and her lyricism. One of the strongest songs is definitely "1 step forward, 3 steps back" even though some listeners of the album won’t think that song is the best, in reality it’s one of the best songs ever written.     While Olivia's vocal performance leaves you knowing she's got a long and successful career ahead of her that's well deserved, for me, SOUR just doesn't hit the mark. The entire project feels short, created specifically for virality (which it did achieve) but in a way that cheapens the album listening experience.

    While many people watched as Driver's License was taking off, it was hard to move past the smell of "industry plant" that I was getting.

    Nonetheless, "Driver's License" and "Hope You're Okay" manage to showcase Olivia's vulnerability and vocals well. Other tracks like "Good For You" and "Deja vu" fail to hit the mark, feeling rushed and targeted specifically and only for career trajectory.

    I love this album because it shows the issues we go through as teenagers or young adults with deep and touching lyrics. The production of this album refers to the pop punk years 2000 I liked that the return of this type of music is highlighted with a touch of modernity way 2022. For an 18 year old girl, she is extremely talented, I can't wait to discover her other projects.

    7/10 - Sour is a bit overhyped, but full of bops nonetheless. It is full of strong songs but, like Ariana Grande’s Sweetener, also had a couple of unmemorable songs that ruined the flow (hope ur okay has never stuck after listening to it multiple times). Thankfully, the album’s worst track is at the end, so it doesn’t kill the momentum built up. Still though, this means its conclusion7/10 - Sour is a bit overhyped, but full of bops nonetheless. It is full of strong songs but, like Ariana Grande’s Sweetener, also had a couple of unmemorable songs that ruined the flow (hope ur okay has never stuck after listening to it multiple times). The album was poorly organized with the rock songs being hidden amongst the sad songs. I also think there were too many sad songs, as I struggle to find one happy song either. All of the songs take on a negative outlook, which is her storytelling, but it would have been interesting to see another side of the story that she narrates. Sour still has very catchy songs that deserve hype, but I personally feel like the hype the album got was overbearing and set it up for failure when I decided I needed more. While I can compliment the album and how it produced so many hits, half of the songs got old quickly (the radio overplaying them, TikTok impact, etc.). When it all comes down to it, Sour is a hard-hitting, big body of work with even bigger shoes that it failed to fill.… Expand

Olivia started her career on Disney Channel and ended up creating her own music. Really good production, emotional lyrics and Olivia's beautiful voice makes this album incredible. Totally a 10 to me!     Muito bom!! Esse álbum mostra tudo oque ela passou no seu antigo relacionamento, suas dores, mágoas e ressentimentos pelo seu ex-namorado. E também se relaciona muito bem com o público alvo dela (adolescente), e esses é um dos motivos que fez o álbum ser um grande sucesso.

    I think this album is a good album. It had a lot of hits as a debut album and it's very good for a novice artist.
    Of course, I really liked Good 4 You and Brutal, and I hope to hear more pop punk songs on Olivia's future albums. Of course, the ballads were also good, but I give more points to these two songs.

    Rodrigo has just come out of the Disney world after acting in a couple of shows she started off in Bizardvk which sadly ended up getting cancelled, but this ended up in her way, as this pathed her to where she is now. Olivia comes out of nowhere with the heartfelt young relatable song called drivers licence and follows it with a High production Project. Sour has really good well constructed ideas that were really relatable for teens around her age, and with a culture filled with society, it seemed they really did love it. Sour to me represents the feelings that late teen feels throughout their teen years. There are songs about; being in love happily, being in love in a sad way, a song about being stressed and even songs about complaining. A relatble masterpiece.

    Despite all this, Olivia Rodrigo's debut is melancholic and strongly reminds of Lorde's debut "Pure Heroine" (2013), which changed the world of pop in a similar way back then. For me, "SOUR" offers not much in terms of artistry; it's not room-filling and too flat. Perhaps the collection of breakup songs describes the style of Gen Z teenage girl pop. But it falls short on versatility and it hasn't really got a message. All in all, it's overhyped - 7 out of 10.

    This album is amazingly written, each song is sonically pleasing and cohesive. It's definitely one of my favorites and played constantly, In my opinion it should definitely take the grammy. The only reason I wouldn' t give it a 10 is because every song (But the last one) is about the same, her ex and the breakup.

She did a great job of blending a more pop/indie "aesthetic" sound with the pop/rock sound that was very strong a few decades ago, without losing cohesion.     I consider this album to be "good". Nothing more and nothing less. Its not trying to be anything its not. The record is very openly emotional and simply, but effectively, written. The only problem this project faces at some points, is being too obvious. There are no big surprises (except brutal, one of the best songs imo).     EXCELENTE. Es uno de los álbumes debut que escuché en la vida, la inspiración en sus artistas favoritos como Lorde o Taylor Swift está presente pero no le quita lo bueno. Las letras son geniales. Olivia Rodrigo es una de las grandes promesas de la industria musical.

    Dare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. Olivia had a very strong record that was very emotionally charged. The record was pretty short but I will say that I think it was nice having a no skip record versus a 17 song album that you skip half songs. The songwriting was fantastic and obviously, there's room to grow, but this is a very strong album. HighlightsDare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. The only thing I would say is if you’re looking for a sonically cohesive album, maybe skip this one. In my opinion, this album is very all over the place, but in the best way. “Brutal, jealousy jealousy, and hope ur ok” describe teenage emotions in very great depth.     A short but well done debut album of a girl who is sure to only improve with time and experience. The singles (Driver's License, Deja Vu, and Good 4 U) are probably my favorites off the album, but Olivia's songwriting skills are definitely on display across the board. I can't wait to see what she does in the future!

    Álbum que pode ser facilmente ouvido por qualquer pessoa e mesmo assim não deixa de ter personalidade. Bem versátil e com singles chicletes, o que um álbum debut tem que ser pra conseguir se destacar, sinceramente.. Ficou muito bom, ainda mais se considerado o pouco tempo de produção. Tem álbuns debut que levam 2,3 anos para serem criados e não têm o mesmo impacto.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is, in my opinion the best album of the year. First the album starts of with a ice braking punk pop inspired hit in brutal. Then directly after totally changing up the mood with the beutiful and heartbreaking song traitor. Then obviously we have the biggest hit of 2021 Drivers Licence, which is still as Good as it was when it came out. After that we have the simplistic but Beautiful song 1 step forward 3 Steps back, which I would say is an incredible song to go into after to big Heartbreak ballads in traitor and Drivers Licence as an ice breaker song to calm down the mood a little. Then we got the beautiful and again a great mix Up from the last song when this is next to a little happy and angry att the se time, just a Beautiful song. Then we go in to the second biggest hit from the album, and may become the biggest on the the album as it is Still two months after It's realease dominantly getting the most streams of Any song right now earning over 55 million streams Every week. You can also easily see why it has become so popular as this also a Little pop punk inspired song is probably the most catchy song in the whole entire album. After the little angry song in Good 4 U we have probably one of the saddest songs on the album, Enough For You. This song is even more heartbreaking than, for me, any other song on the album. Then we go over to Happier which is not really that much happier than Enough For You, but is agian another Heartbreak ballads which seems to be kinda the theme of this album, to show all the "Sour" parts of Love and life. But I would still say that every song brings something different to the table and Happier is no exception. When she in this song starts showing a little bit of that jealous side and I think this is something everyone goes through in a Heartbreak. Now we go over to the next song, Jealousy jealousy. This is for me One of the most relatable songs on the whole entire album. I also think this song talks about a very important topic nowadays, the internet and how humans are portrayed to be like, and she does it in such a good and relatable way. Just an incredible song. Then we now have come to the 10th song of the album Favourite Crime. This song is again just a very beautiful song, talking about all the bad stuff she did just to be together with this one boy, and everything she went trough just so they could be together. Now we have the last song of the album, Hope Ur Ok.I would say this is a perfect way to ens an album which for me had been an emotional roller coaster. It's soft and again beautiful and just the absolutely best song to end on. Overall this album is just amazing with amazing songwriting and an amazing voice in Olivia Rodrigo. IF you haven't already listened to this album I think you really should because, this is definetly worth a listen, and you will probably be a bryter person after listening to this.

    I wish i could give it a 10 but it lacks some songwriting subject versatility (since the songwriting is good but putting it like this, if you're not a teen who has been hurt by your ex you just won't be into it), and it does sound a lot like other people sometimes, like Paramore, Taylor Swift, Lorde...     From start to finish, this album amazed me. For a debut album to be this good is a big accomplishment. From the rock inspired bangers like brutal and good 4 u to emotional ballads like favorite crime and traitor, Rodrigo blows us away with her strong vocals and even stronger lyrics. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer.

    Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.

    By the end of the album, Rodrigo has established her voice and showed listeners that she's not afraid to be vulnerable. SOUR is a strong debut that vividly illustrates the beautiful chaos of being inside a teenage girl's brain.
