    I really love this album. Drivers License slapped hard. I'm not a teenager but I can relate to what she wanted to say in this album. Not only talk about heartbreak and breakup, this album tells us about how to deal with insecurity, self-esteem, friendship, etc. A very good and solid album from a young artist. With SOUR, Olivia gives us the promising future for her career and discography.

    For a debut album it is very fabulous, it has different sounds and is rich in lyric, it shows Rodrigo's great ability to compose, his composition recalls the country days of Taylor Swfit, to be a teenage artist it is a great debut.
    Olivia Rodrigo is undoubtedly catapulting herself as an upcoming pop star on the rise.

    This is by far one of the best debuts EVER. She is an amazing writer. And to the people saying "it's all the same subject" maybe it'd because she wrote this last year?? On her own?? She was not planning to release it all but just released drivers license just for the fun of it. She did not expect the reception it got so she just kept making the other songs that she had already made

I knew back in January that there was something special when Olivia came out with her drivers license single and 4 months later, we are being hit with quite possibly one of the best and most unique pop albums of the year so far. It's got an excellent blend of different styles, including everything from calm cuts like "drivers license" to more up-tempo and in-your-face tracks like "good 4 u" and even the opener is quite loud and bombastic. With SOUR, Olivia has definitely shown that new talent is not dead but is in fact living very well and continuing to push the boundaries of what music should be. In my opinion, there are no skips on this album and each track reinforces the next.… Expand

    Her combination of sweet melodies and bitter moods, her conversational flow, and her self-awareness are all skills many songwriters twice her age would love to call their own, and they make Sour a well-rounded emotional journey and strong debut album.

    This album is so versatile. The songwriting and lyrics from Olivia Rodrigo and Dan Nigro are deep, vulnerable and powerful. Rodrigo’s voice is beautiful and emotional, and overall the album made me feel so much. I would most definitely recommend this album to everyone!!

It gives us feelings that we can't even relate properly - because we've never experienced particular and singular things that she has -, but we truly feel whatever she's singing by the way she sings it. The themes range from loving disillusionment to the sorrows of aging without prospects or thinking you've wasted time and were masterfully addressed by the "good 4 u" singer in this record. They're the only 2 tracks where I've experienced the same situations so the lyrics hit so hard. My favorite lines have to be "All I see is what I should be; happier, prettier, jealousy, jealousy" and "Cause who am I, if not exploited?

    It deserves more than this, honestly. I'm sold. A **** masterpiece ripped out of liv's heart. She has a lot of courage to put this out at such a young age, that too her debut. I'm speechless. A TEENAGE ALBUM. It perfectly depicts the emotions that every adolescent goes through. yeah, I know probably not the best order but you try and put this at this age, anyone would be **** lost.     It is really a great debut album. She’s new to the industry we need to cut her some slack. I think because of Billie Eillish’s massive debut we’ve set a standard for teenagers to debut with an icebreaker album which is not fair. Pop is a massive genre. However, she did break many records with her debut single, she shows much potential with that and her debut album. More power to her!!

    Sour is definitely one of the better debut albums, and better albums of the year. While it’s not the best. You’re definitely allowed to repeat most of these songs. With songs such as ‘Brutal’, ‘Traitor’ and ‘Jealousy, Jealousy’, this album should definitely be considered a top-tier album of the year.

    Olivia has said she is typically a sad song ballad song writer and there are definitely those songs on the album. But she also stretched herself to create more upbeat songs such as brutal and good 4 u that are some diversity to the album.

    Olivia Rodrigo's 'SOUR' is the next big thing. The album consisting of 11 tracks aims to please all audiences. Whilst demonstrating storytelling of teenage angst, heartbreak, and other common themes that many adolescents face, it experiments with various different styles of music. Examples of the contrast between different tracks include the first song on the album titled 'brutal.' ItOlivia Rodrigo's 'SOUR' is the next big thing. The album consisting of 11 tracks aims to please all audiences. Whilst demonstrating storytelling of teenage angst, heartbreak, and other common themes that many adolescents face, it experiments with various different styles of music. Examples of the contrast between different tracks include the first song on the album titled 'brutal.' It starts the album with an outrageous pop punk sound to scream all day long before transitioning into the ballad which is the romantic tragedy of 'traitor.' Instantly, you get to experience with two different sounding styles backed up by Olivia's fantastic vocals. Olivia also grew up surrounded by influences such as Taylor Swift, which explains her potential she has creating phenomenal lyricism which attracts many. This album is incredible and shows how authentic Olivia can be. Overall, 'SOUR' contains songs to make you cry, say "me too" to, scream at the top of your lungs, and define your emotions with, all at the same time.     Her combination of sweet melodies and bitter moods, her conversational flow, and her self-awareness are all skills many songwriters twice her age would love to call their own, and they make Sour a well-rounded emotional journey and strong debut album.

    Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.

    By the end of the album, Rodrigo has established her voice and showed listeners that she's not afraid to be vulnerable. SOUR is a strong debut that vividly illustrates the beautiful chaos of being inside a teenage girl's brain.
