This CD is uncomfortably caught in between catchy rock and moodier alternative.

This album is not nearly as terrible as some of the reviews have indicated. The darker sound is a welcome change. My biggest complaint with this record is that it's been overproduced to death and far too many songs blend in with each other. But like the first album, there are at least 2 or 3 standout tracks which keep my coming back.

got into the first album on flight back from tenerife and was elated at performance. Have to say if it was this pretty lacklustre album, I may have got of the flight.

  1. Garcia and company wear their '80s influences proudly throughout, yet bring enough fresh ideas to the mix to avoid being mere slaves to precious retro-fashion.

What's the point of a cheesy goth-pop record that isn't any fun? [May 2006, p.105]
  3. Elefant's latest is only as deep as its clenched-jaw fake-Brit hooks.
