A genuinely masterful work of art from Manchester Orchestra. It's their most mature offering and it's clear that time was spent to meticulously create this album. If you haven't listened, just hit play and you will be introduced to something magic.

This band has a way of creating a genuine feeling of earnestness, an honest hard to place your finger on type of magic that I have not encountered in many other bands. Other highlights: “Obstacle”,my favorite track on the album, we hear Andy hit some out of character high notes that surprised me, and were worth the effort. Hearing Hull branch out and try new things (as simple as they seem) was a huge pleasure to hear. “Angel of death” was also a favorite of mine. Point is I cannot say enough nice things about this album, I cannot stop jumping in the car and bringing up Spotify to listen through again. Excellent work. Expand

This album has a nice enough sound but I found it hard to remember any of the tracks in any real detail. The material is all very well thought out and constructed and the songs are pieced together with great care. The raw materials are lacking for me though, it lacks umph or any true inspiration. I was expecting a bit more. Give me a Fleet Foxes album any day of the week.

Another tremendous album from Manchester Orchestra. The band continues to grow and expand upon their sound, picking right up where they left off on Black Mile To The Surface. The themes are getting more mature as the band grows, both lyrics and the music are so in touch with each other.

Bed head is the song of the year. We need more music like this. Great album

Brilliant and beautiful. They’ve done it again. Of course by now we should all be expecting great things. I honestly believe this band ages like a fine wine.

mistura muito boa entre elementos de um indie denso e com uma roupagem morderna, que soube colocar as influências de folk nas horas certes, da mesma forma com o climax das músicas, como tem Let Storm e Dinosaur.
Destaque para Inaudible, Angel of Death, Bad Head, Let Storm, Dinosaur & The Internet.

Here, it's a lot more of that soft-loud dynamic, that visceral arrangement on the buildups and honestly, a lot more of Andy's iconic poetry. ... It frees them even more creatively, and I love the growth shown.

There's also an unexpected flow to the album, with the more robust, high-energy tracks appearing earlier and the more subdued, introspective ones coming later; all of which beautifully reflects the ebb and flow of life. The Million Masks of God captures this flow, taking you on a theatrical journey that's often as moving and poignant as it is aurally engaging.

With its complex sonic textures, use of repetition, and few standout hooks, The Million Masks of God is Manchester Orchestra’s least accessible work, but it’s an achievement in its own way. It doesn’t have many stand-out singles but is best appreciated by repeated listens in its entirety as the narrator, as a stand-in for the band, confronts his spiritual and emotional pain without a clear resolution.
