Jun 17, 2015I like the Adam Lambert this way, little toned down, but overall this album is not GRAMMY material, lazy lyrics. Favorite tracks: There I Said It, Shame, Evil in the Night.

Jun 20, 2015Lambert has personality and a great voice, but the songs in The Original High play very safe and not very exploit their lyrics and the singer's voice. None of the songs are bad, but none of them are really good too.

Dec 14, 2016Considering it's produced by two of pop's finest minds, it's a bit of a let down. Yes, it has some amazing vocals, it's modern and it has some cracking numbers (the title track). It's just a little bland. A little pop-by-numbers. We also have some real god awful tracks present - 'Rumours' and the laughable 'Lucy'.
It's never going to be hated, but it certainly won't be cherished.

Jun 16, 2015Even when the lyrics verge on ridiculousness (on the Tove Lo-featuring "Rumors," Lambert denounces "haterade"), he's one of the biggest personalities in pop.

Jun 16, 2015If the end result isn’t as big a blast as the star’s previous records, it still has his likable tone and witty character to count on.

Jun 15, 2015While there are a few missteps--Mr. Lambert doesn’t have the R&B sultriness required for “Underground,” and “Rumors” bizarrely cribs the jaunty synth pattern from Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”--there are almost no extravagances. After years of spectacle, Mr. Lambert may have been saved by modesty.
