Hmm to be honest I was a little confused by the perfect reviews some users gave. i would imagine those are the die-hard Nicki fans or Barbies :/. This album gives me mixed feelings. This album gives me mixed feelings. While I like some of the tracks (especially at the beginning and end) I absolutely hate the pure hip-hop tracks. The hip-hop tracks are non-innovative and simply draw back the potential this album could have. mind you i am a hip-hop fan but the hip-hop offerings on her previous albums were much better and unique than those she has on this. Even some of the slower, melodic tracks are not as well-written as they could be. bed of Lies sounds very uninspired and most of the collaborations sound forced (Those with ariana, beyonce, etc). There are some innovative sounding cuts on the album but they are overshadowed by those awful hip-hop tracks she included which are probably there to try to prove she is hip-hop to the hip-hop world. Overall, I am in the middle for this album. Expand

It was better than I expected and my expectations were very low since she released Anaconda (and that was garbage).
There were some good songs (like The Night Is Still Young and Grand Piano), but a lot of the songs fell short because they were WAY too boring and repetitive.
Yet again mainstream music proves itself to be just as mediocre as you would expect.

There's no doubt about it, This IS Nicki's best work to date.It also has some pretty good cuts like "Anaconda" "Bed of Lies" "Only" and "Feeling Myself". but half of the album is pretty much a dissapointment. "Pills n Potions"? seriously? c'mon Nicki, you can do better. like, a lot better.

Undoubtedly Nicki Minaj’s best album to date, this album is a classic example of an album with highs and lows, as without horrible tracks like “Trini Dem Girls” and “Anaconda”, as well as suspect tracks such as “Only” and “Four Door Aventador”, this one could be truly something to behold, which was not at all what I expected. As her last album may have been one of my least favorite releases of 2012, I obviously had extremely low expectations for this one, but Nicki showed her skills her on many occasions, in large part thanks to her being willing to get emotional. Tracks such as “All Things Go”, “I Lied”, “The Crying Game”, “Pills n Potions”, and “Bed of Lies”, are all very good songs that honestly helped to reshape my opinion of Nicki and elevated this album above her more stereotypical and sexed up tracks. In addition, the song “Grand Piano” just really, really touched my heart and is far and away the best track on this album and one that will be on replay for me for a while. Without some of the bottom feeding tracks aimed at the lowest common denominator, this album could have been something to truly behold, but sadly, it is not. I hope that for her next album, she sticks with the emotional side of things where she can truly flex her vocal skills, her rapping skills, and strike a chord rather than just try to sell her body to thirsty dudes. The production on this album shows somewhat of an improvement of Nicki Minaj as an artist, I think that the features on the album overpowered her as I want to see her with less features and needs to showcase that she doesn't need a Drake or Lil Wayne on her album.

for me, I believe Minaj has achieved by having non of those silly, over-hyped pop songs jumbled in with all the rap ones as well - I believe the predeceasing Roman Reloaded was destroyed of its rap glory by the arrival of the pop hits, starting generally after track 7 and ending all the way at track 20 something - the fault that remains with this new album however, seems the lacking offor me, I believe Minaj has achieved by having non of those silly, over-hyped pop songs jumbled in with all the rap ones as well - I believe the predeceasing Roman Reloaded was destroyed of its rap glory by the arrival of the pop hits, starting generally after track 7 and ending all the way at track 20 something - the fault that remains with this new album however, seems the lacking of general raw, angry and baffling Nicki that made the rap parts great on Roman Reloaded. Why is it that the new songs have videos that contain mature and explicit content? . Her rapping skills are good though... Much better than Iggy's rapping skills lol... Iggy sounds like she's rapping from a hole in her throat like a horse.

Pois bem, após muitos adiamentos, o The Pinkprint lançou e eu pude ouvir. De certo ponto, fiquei bastante decepcionado

Pois bem, após muitos adiamentos, o The Pinkprint lançou e eu pude ouvir.

When it doesn't sound like a mess, it's a really good album. Tracks like All Things Go and I Lied are masterpieces, but singing about love and heartbreak after rapping about dick size doesn't work for me. Except for this unhappy ending, The Pinkprint may still be one of the best female rap albums of 2014.

What I consider her 2nd best body of work with some of her best releases Pinkprint is undeniably her best release which further cemented her status as a juggernaut in her field. My problem with this album like most Minaj albums is the filler because there's a solid rap album hear muddied by excess (put you in a room, favorite, 4dooraventdor) but when its good it's exhilarating such as "What I consider her 2nd best body of work with some of her best releases Pinkprint is undeniably her best release which further cemented her status as a juggernaut in her field. Minaj is a game-changer. But, this shows not a lot of what she could do.
    She. is. not. a. singer.

I would have loved to see badass solo rapped songs. It is still not bad, but not good either.

We have very weak tracks and a very average hip-hop and nothing innovative, the details that Nicki always comes on her albums was taken away and weakening the potential that had the album. the slower and melodic tracks are with out-of-writing compositions that we usually see. hip-hop for the world of hip-hop. You could see Nicki's best potential on other albums ahead.

This album gets me mixed feelings. Despite having some of Nicki's best hits, its lenght can make it somehow boring and repetitive.

We finally get some edgy personal tracks from The alleged Queen of Rap. However, most songs don't hook with you and can be left out in the dust because of a lack of replay value. Sometimes, you can make songs that are too personal to listen to twice.

  1. An understandable desire to have her traumas understood by everybody inevitably results in a bland mush of melodrama. Despite this, The Pinkprint is Nicki Minaj’s most successful album by a fairly wide margin, as she becomes more empathetic than at any point in the past while Pink Friday’s DMZ between pop and rap becomes little more than a historical footnote in her career.

For the most part, though, this seems like a step in the wrong direction: a Nicki Minaj album from somebody who’s thoroughly fed up of being Nicki Minaj.

The Pinkprint has moments. Some are great, but most are not.
