Jan 17, 2020Great follow up to good kid maad city. Really shows off Kendrick's talents as a lyricist if not poet.
-
Jan 17, 2020glad to live in this era and hear this, every song means something, a nice pick from lamar on beats.
-
Dec 26, 2019Best rap record of the decade. The only album to compete is Kanye's MBDTF and this record edges out ahead.
-
Dec 22, 2019Hands down, album of the decade. 5000 words isn't even enough to explain how much I love this album. From the structure of the album to the world class song writing and from the jazz and soul influences to the versatility of Kendrick Lamar voice really brings the entire album to life.

Sep 28, 2019The album that made me interested in music. Before this i didn't care much for music albums, but TPAB has changed that and is still one of the best rap albums I ever heard.
-
Sep 25, 2019Amazing album but not as good as good kid m.a.a.d city but in my opinion, they're both tens.
-
Sep 10, 2019Muito provavelmente o melhor álbum de rap da década. Álbuns como esse serão usados como referência na história do rap.
-
Sep 9, 2019I have no negative thing to say about this album. This is one of the greatest rap album of all time, even Kendrick's best album so far! This is an instant classic and a masterpiece! Nothing to say more. sorry.
-
Sep 3, 2019Powerful movement into a classical legendary position for Kendrick musically and poetically, while shifting the tides and bending the bars of what storytelling rap was, and what it will forever be.
-
Aug 25, 2019A classic album which will undoubtedly stand the test of time as a masterpiece. A great listen to anyone with ears, even those who do not like hip hop or rap will enjoy. I recommend listening in a space where you can truly listen to and admire the lyrics and the story the album is telling.
-
Aug 25, 2019Just an incredible masterpiece. There are no words to describe how this, 4 years on, is still one of, if not the best rap album of the 21st century. Perfect from top to bottom, Kendrick just manslaughters everyone and everything in this. A classic.
-
Aug 25, 2019This is the one of the best rap albums of all time without a doubt. The fact the new Taylor Swift album is higher is honestly embarrassing
-
Aug 24, 2019Greatest hiphop album of all time, by far
Amazing album, just a clear 10/10 -
Aug 16, 2019Tbh I personally think that this album is overrated but it still loves up to it.
Very well put together its really worth the hype tbh -
Aug 6, 2019Best Kendrick album
Best album of the decade. Kendrick proves that he is the voice of this generation and tries to be a role model. -
Jul 28, 2019The concept is the most ambitious and creative arguably in music history. The production is eclectic and pushes boundaries in the genre. The lyrics as always are brilliant. This is all around superb. It might lack the replay value of other great albums, given it's density and strict concept, but it's still an artifact of 2010s hip hop from one of the greatest to ever do it.

Jul 13, 2019i mean come on it's to pimp a butterfly, it's one of the most acclaimed albums ever made, let alone in the 2010s

Jun 29, 2019Masterpiece!!! That’s all I got to say. I still play this album front to back at least 6 or 7 times a year.
-
Jun 21, 2019An absolute masterpiece that will act as a time capsule for generations to come of the first 2 decades of this century.
-
May 31, 2019Just about as close to perfect as you can get. Its incredible that Kendrick was able to one up himself after dropping a project like GKMC.
-
May 28, 2019Most unique album ever known to mankind. All of kendrick's voices are present: enraged, sympathetic, high pitched, rough-edged, panic-driven, authority voice and many more. He manages to outline all the problems within the society. It deserves to be the most acclaimed hip hop album of this decade.
-
Apr 2, 2019This album is great for various reasons. It has many memorable tracks such as Alright, King Kunta, and These Walls. Kendrick improves on his craft and really takes it to another level!
Awards & Rankings
-
The WireMay 15, 2015Lamar offers a commitment to effect change through the work itself. Whether or not that's realistic ideal the delivery is so powerful it's hard not to get caught up in the rapture. [May 2015, p.50]
-
The SourceMay 6, 2015Each song means more with reference to the project's overall concept than it does as a standalone record, which shouldn't take away from its impact, but rather speak of the courage of its creator. [Apr-May 2015, p.87]
-
Q MagazineApr 29, 2015It's a challenging, ambitious combination of words and music that becomes increasingly absorbing over time. [Jun 2015, p.103]
