  1. Totaled dives even further into the realm of the progressive-or at least post-punk's idea of it-with songs like "Look Alive" and "Never Been Better," dystopian downers that share more DNA with This Heat and Cabaret Voltaire than with Roky Erickson.
  2. Unlike some underground bands, Indian Jewelry just get more uncompromising and honed as they go, and this eerie, unsettling album is a perfect culmination of the duo's work so far.
  3. For a band known more for untamed drones and out-there sonics, Totaled's tempering of pop and experimentation is a welcome new feel.
  4. Over the three preceding records, the band has built up a loyal following by creating dark, gritty, but tuneful music. This album slots in nicely to the band's catalog as yet another release with undoubted new wave pop sensibilities fluttering amongst more damaged, foreboding vibes.
