    Yes the songs are catchier and slightly better executed, and the music evokes a by gone era but remains grounded in the modern world so it’s not a pastiche, but it all sounds, well, too safe.

Zeffira's orchestrations are truly wonderful and she is establishing a reputation as one of the best female composers around. Her solo album, "The Deserters" is well worth a listen, as is the Cat's Eyes score for Peter Strickland's "The Duke of Burgundy". The classical influence she brings can be heard throughout.
